  • I’m generally all for people being allowed to do what they want and understand that gambling is not a new concept. I do think however that with the birth of Sportsbook apps and the partnering/advertisements being pushed from the most widespread audiences on tv all the way down to small YouTube channels that literally have nothing to do with gambling or even sports for that matter running promos that it’s become borderline disgusting to me. I love sports as a whole but it’s seemed over the last three or four years that the optics have been flipped on its head and we’re only going to see more and more people struggle with addictions that are being plastered right in front of their faces, especially younger kids who start to become of legal age to gamble

Not trying to derail with a Drake convo but for those who it’s obvious he’s not gambling with his actual money it’s nbd but since he doesn’t disclose that it’s part of the issue since it’s misleading to those who aren’t aware

i agree. i lost my mom to gambling, she was honest and caring before she got into it but by the end of our relationship she was a lying thief. she got into too much s*** and walked out on me without telling me and took all of my s*** with her, leaving me to figure out what to do with her place. she didn’t even tell me she was, my neighbors had to let me know. i won’t even fill out a scratch ticket.

Oh yeah I agree I mean I guess in a vacuum there’s nothing inherently wrong with posting a play but it feels grimy coming from influential people

Think this is my biggest issue too. It sucks to see so many people losing sight over what makes sports enjoyable because they put in a $10 7 leg parlay

I agree that it’s crazy how much more it’s being promoted now that it’s legal here but the majority of guys I know bet on sports all the time and none of them are ruining their lives or blowing all their money

Those apps are so insane. Can't believe some of them are legal like the slots bullshit

And FanDuel or whatever stole 10 bucks from me

I gotta see if I can get that back still

  • not everything needs to be a f***ing joke

yeah ripping 2$ 8 leg parlays never hurt nobody lol

just makes it a little more exciting to watch

  • Its fire tbh. With everything though gotta have moderation. Ive made $400-$600 off just little $5 or $10 parlays. Gives you another reason to tune into sports

It's definitely hooked a larger casual audience that doesn't understand when enough is enough. Seen some friends go down a terrible betting hole and it ruined relationships altogether.

Still enjoying my MGM slots though.

Sports betting was always normal. I just hate how commentators are forced to always bring up the lines and stuff. ESPN having a betting service also feels like a conflict of interest

  • the devil is winning

  • When I saw you could parley CS:GO & Apex Legends kills I knew it was a wrap.

remember the days when drake’s stake partnership wasn’t explicitly stated yet and every now and then he would post a big bet and then we found the deepockets6 stake account. good times.

90% of gamblers give up right before a big win just to s*** on gambling without realizing how close they were to becoming a millionaire. my advice is KEEP GAMBLING
