    I’m generally all for people being allowed to do what they want and understand that gambling is not a new concept. I do think however that with the birth of Sportsbook apps and the partnering/advertisements being pushed from the most widespread audiences on tv all the way down to small YouTube channels that literally have nothing to do with gambling or even sports for that matter running promos that it’s become borderline disgusting to me. I love sports as a whole but it’s seemed over the last three or four years that the optics have been flipped on its head and we’re only going to see more and more people struggle with addictions that are being plastered right in front of their faces, especially younger kids who start to become of legal age to gamble

    And yes it is absolutely disgusting

    This s*** is crazy it seems like congress needs to step in and stop this s*** . NBA player’s literally shooting garbage time buckets just to hit Vegas odds, this would be prison time years ago

  • Online gambling was really big like 20 years ago. ESPN showed all those poker tournaments and lots of people got into online poker. GoldenPalace and Bodog and s*** like that were everywhere sports gambling wise. GoldenPalace was on boxer's backs. Bodog started their own MMA promotion. What's new is it being legal and right on your phone but the UK already had that s*** heavy. Also, COVID obviously

    Weird to see DraftKings and s*** working with the leagues though. Feels improper

  • I do think it’s crazy how often conversations with my male friends and coworkers just devolve immediately into discussions around betting when any sports topic is brought up at all

    Feels like 90% of guys 26-35 or so are sports betting on apps

  • I say this almost daily at this point. Every other ad i see throughout the city, every other commercial, etc is just fanduel and draftkings over and over again. Its so incredibly easy to just log on and blow money

    I never thought i had an addictive personality but i throw at least 10 bucks at these apps every night which definitely adds up. Its just “something to do” on a weeknight. Pretty wild how casually you can do it
