it’s calm if you grew up with it but that’s a terrible album man and hov top 2 ever to me
How much they hate it? Very. Kiss girls like Katy Perry. I am never sprung but I spring her- Jerry.
overhated album. Wait til they come around to MCHG
I always loved MCHG for what it was , really fun album
It’s one of those records that’s was poppin in it’s time but didn’t age well (yes I know KTT nerds don’t understand the concept of not aging well, or y’all just play stupid)
But when it dropped it was all over, album full of hits, like huge hits fr fr, not his best but acting like it’s trash it’s some feeling intellectual nerd s*** that watch fantano reviews too much
1. What We Talkin’ About ft. Luke Steele - pretty good intro and I like the beat a lot
2. Thank You - the last verse of this song is crazy
3. D.O.A. (Death of Auto-Tune) - at the time this song had quite an impact
4. Run This Town ft. Rihanna & Kanye West - classic song
5. Empire State of Mind ft. Alicia Keys - classic song
6. Real As It Gets ft. Young Jeezy - not a bad song but not something I go back to often
7. On To The Next One ft. Swizz Beatz - classic and I love the sample so I might be bias
8. Off That - did not age well but it's cool to hear young drake
9. A Star Is Born ft. J Cole - the beat did not hold up for me but cool hearing J Cole's first major album verse
10. Venus vs. Mars - still a good song
11. Already Home ft. Kid Cudi - still a great song minus the I'm a mammal line
12. Hate - not their best effort but the pew pew pew part is funny
13. Reminder - skip
14. So Ambitious ft. Pharrell Williams - not my fave
15. Young Forever ft. Mr. Hudson - annoying but classic chorus
So I don't think you can call it a classic but it has good songs that still hold up for sure
Maybe it’s because I was a kid but I run songs off this back all the time.
American gangster/BP3/WTT quietly a hard ass run. Even more impressive when u remember that’s kinda the era Jay z became the guy even your grandma knows
Blueprint 3 is about as much of a "classic" as Views: Iconic singles but an overall meh album that doesn't measure up to actual classics.
Can't be rewriting history like this.
Literally the WOAT Jay Z era by a mile
Exactly. 09-13 was the dark ages for Hov.
Blueprint 3 had overproduced beats and no type of flow on the whole album.
And MCHG was carried by production, had vapid content, and the worst rapping in Jay-Z's whole career.
Hov was trying to be like Kanye with the whole artsy wave but it didn't come off natural for him at all.
Has some great songs, but I just felt like this era, he seemed a little uncomfortable and out of place. Think he was figuring out how to still be at the top while the next generation of artists took the reigns. That’s why WTT is a really important album imo.
Kingdom Come & BP3 he sounds so off
Thank god for AG & WTT
