Yeah and now this is a standard Logic verse

Okay let's get it you know I kill it
Yeah I know you feel it
Your hands up to the ceiling
    Logic just made another million
    Logic sick yeah I'm illin
    Chasing that feeling
Banana peeling I get it I kill it
And I know you feel it

Take it back yeah I rap
Watch how I flow on a track
    Logic bringin real rap back
    Shout out the rat pack
Yeah I'm half white half black
    Rapping with a backpack
    Logic never back track
    No I never act wack

Not sure if these are actual lyrics or not

I’m saying it from an online only perspective. Nobody wants to get “ratio’d” or called a nerd or whatever because of the music they like so whenever some s*** comes up that’s not really in line with what’s cool in the culture rn they s*** on it so they don’t look like the strawman they envision that listens to that music.

But that’s loser s*** because why would you a grown ass human being be concerned about what some ip numbers think about your music taste?

This same mentality is why a lotta niggas be too scared or worried making threads about artists THEY like for fear they may get made fun of or even get ignored.

I crack on him cause I do not like the artists he be posting but @Melz at least don’t care. Ppl like @proper just post they artists they like and dont care. Whether they get 1 or 111 replies they don’t care. Post who YOU f*** with not who you think will make you look cool dawg 😭 Thats what we need more of in the MUSIC sxn, just post who u like and don’t care what somebody else thinks about it.

Talking bout “scaring the hoes”, you know how much new music i’ve put women on to IRL because…I don’t care?

Context: the whole story series also consisted of jpegmafia/danny brown album, mick jenkins album, and other joints like kenny mason 9

Niggas gotta try to put anything that deviates from the status quo into its own box.

And I’m saying as a nigga that grew up on s*** like Cannibal Ox, Micranots, Rubberroom Technology, MF DOOM, Juggaknots, etc.

JID is the farthest thing from a “lyrical miracle” rapper. He just dares to use lyrics in a time niggas dont really care bout em so “omg lyrical miracle”

you really had to go back to f***ing rubberroom on em

and to piggyback off that earl really is the best for it because he can shout Duwap Kaine and dance to Roddy Ricch on IG and also give a shout to KA's album with Preservation and put people on billy woods too

and then he does this video like man hes so goated

The fact ppl equate niggas like JID as lyrical miracle rappers for the objectively task of…actually rhyming words that have more than one syllable speaks volumes about where we at in hip hop

You do realize the term in and of itself is ironic and is lampooning said artists?

    But it’s not

It came from a filthy Frank video making fun of bad internet rappers who thought they were good at rapping. It wasn’t making fun of people like JID at all. Idk how old you are but there was a whole wave of people in the early 2010s that jumped on the Hopsin type s*** talking about “fuck Wayne and Drake, I only like/make real hip hop” that’s who Joji was making fun of

Then people started calling anyone who rhymed a bunch of nonsense lyrical miracles(Eminem, Aesop Rock, Doom) Even tho again that isn’t who the video was making fun of

And now anyone that actually even raps gets called that

JID isn't really a "lyrical rapper". He's a Das EFX tongue twister rapper. Different things.

Cause Earl like most functioning human beings knows there’s room for everything.

The issue has never been “aw hip hop is street music/sex music etc.” because hip hop’s always had that lane since the days of early BDP.

The issue is we got no f***ing BALANCE no more. So now EVERYBODY wants to just be one thing.

And that’s why we suffering lol.

eh thats not really true though theres still plenty room for that just in the mainstream the audience for that is smaller. Think thats also partially cuz those guys dont meld with the other guys as much either stuff is just more fragmented lately u know

cuz people are just more interested in how things sound, thats just the pendulum. We had lyrical stuff dominating for a while. JID is so big cuz he can bridge that gap and do other types of stuff while keeping or dropping the substance, not a lot of lyrical guys can do that rn. just how hip hop is evolving, not everyone gotta care about lyrical skill all the time its just not dominating or having as much crossover

  • Jan 30, 2024

actually its not even that, theres plenty of music with substance its just more popular to hear it delivered in a dif way now, not in the traditional lyrical way.

I think the phrase "scaring the hoes" has been hijacked by virgins who are afraid of coming off as virgins. It's gone beyond the club/party context, where it actually makes since, and is being applied to ALL settings now. Just annoying as f***
