I like JIK, but I can't really compare it to other Kanye's albums. He became too lazy or too distracted, I don't really know. Before Kanye made albums which are classics and at the same time are long, but now he makes bunch of short songs, all of which safely end just before they have any chance to be boring. He goes even futher by cutting songs from JIK. I hope someone asks him during the interview why he does it.

There are EPs longer then that, Kanye came up with that stupid shtick. Anyone would agree that it is a much harder task to make a 40 minute album then a 20 minute EP.

Yes, but short projects became a thing since TLOP that was so long just because Kanye decided to put Good Fridays and Charlie Heat Facts there. Again, I'd say if making good short album is hard, then making an album of the decent length is two times harder.

S***s should just be called projects nowadays. There's been 11 min albums and 1 hour EPs and so and so, it's just a way to label them and it's decided by the artist. Shouldn't really matter at this point as long as what you're delivering is good music

First of all, 90% of what is going on in this forum is overanalyzing of Kanye. Secondly, of course after listening parties and people like Cons who post alternative tracklists, it is very hard not to be frustrated. People are giving money to the leakers just to get some unfinished mumbling when Kanye has like 4 finished songs that he played but doesn't feel like giving them to his fans.

He calls it an album on his own site. I'm saying lets not twist the meanings, and you do exactly that. If artist promise an album and already has albums that might even be longer then 1 hour, I expect a decent length and not some super short thing, at the same time if someone promises an EP I won't expect 1 hour of music just because some dude did it.

I disagree shorter albums are just a cultural response to shorter attention spans. Outside of my favorite lyrical rappers, jazz players, or rock bands, listening to long ass albums is just a task. Especially when they usually have like 3 categories of songs that are all the same. Shorter albums are the future

it is classic, it's a bit short yes, 3-5 minutes more would make a huge diffrence but nonetheless it's an amazing album, very emotional, it truely shows kanye transformation.
I was dissapointed at first but changed my mind after few listenings.
