What is the obsession with length on here?

It doesn't effect the quality.

There's classics that are 20+ track double albums, but that doesn't stop something like Dirty Mind (8 tracks) by Prince being one of the greatest albums of all time.

It will be the length it needs to be, and if it's really exceptional or original then it might become a classic.

The length itself doesn't effect how good the album is. And the length of the tracks shouldn't matter either, a lot of my favourite gospel music is fairly short recordings from the 50s and 60s. A classic song is a classic song, it doesn't need a minute long outro to make it artistic.

I think this is a beautiful album and does it really matter if it's a classic? It's part of an overwhelmingly classic discography so it matters for that alone. Kanye already gave you 5 classics, produced another classic for Common and then produced half a classic for Hov too. That's like 6.5 classics, and some would count WTT too.

It would be fun but what does Kanye, the fans or hip hop really gain from more classic Kanye albums? I'd rather just watch him do what he wants to do, that's actually more interesting than him having to factor in multiple fanbases, being as original as possible, what makes him timeless and what will become a hit. We've already seen him do that, let him follow his instincts, and at some point a classic might just happen. And if it doesn't it's not a big deal

This is an album. 9 full songs and 2 interludes is way too long for an EP.

If you only listen to music from this era then I get why this would seem short. But it's really a very 'classic' thing to do, which is what you want right anyway..

As I say look at Prince - he had classics that were 80 minutes like Sign o the Times and then classics that were barely 30 mins like Dirty Mind that are just as good, if not better.

If you're disappointed, it's probably more to do with the music than the length. I think it's a beautiful album tho, that's definitely not a classic and doesn't need to be. But adding an extra ten mins, wouldn't make this a classic. He'd have to add more lyrical themes, probably get more features etc.
