Starting to think the whole movie is self aware its a movie. Especially because he wears the crew shirt at the end. His dad opens with "they will bring us back for the sequel". I am going tot look for clues throughout

What was the cut plot point from the test screenings, I remember people talking bout one but I had avoided back then as I hadn't seen the movie back then.

Gordy murdered his entire family yet he has the MAD cover framed still and keeps everything behind it. He really pimped his pain and trauma.

Then goes on to talk about SNL where they again recreate the horror. The movie is often about how we keep diluting horrors and trauma. Frames of it, painting merch, yet we can't look away so we all die or lose ourselves to it or become consumed. This isn't just a light commentary on social media but also on news cycles like police brutality. like we could look away but we always look. We argue about it

Someone gets rich off of it and the cycle continues. We evoke trauma and its how we bond by laughing at trauma. Every time Gordy hears about the Jungle or his natural habitat he gets angrier because he was taken away from it to the stage he can't escape.

I lliked it but I zoned out near the end lol
ngl got no idea wtf they were doing with the inflatable things or why theres a camera inside a well pointing to the sky or what the monkey s*** had to do with anything

• They used the inflatable air dancers to know when the the alien is nearby because the electrical interference deflates them

• The camera well is just an attraction at Jupiter’s Claim (Emerald used it in the end to get the Oprah Shot)

• Animal exploitation is a big theme and the stuff with Gordy the chimpanzee is to show you can’t tame a wild animal (or to have direct eye contact, that’s why OJ doesn’t stare directly at the alien). That also parallels with Jupe trying to turn the alien into an attraction and feeding it the horses to build a trust, but obviously doesn’t end well
