TheLostBoyIt’s like David Cronenberg for another example. Don’t hear people saying he makes the same s***, because he likes horror.
This is Peele’s 3rd film. He likes making horror films in his style. Us and Get Out are so different. Yet people are saying he needs to branch out and do something different
Like you mentioned, Ari Aster has made 2 horror movies, yet nobody is on his ass for that.
It’s funny.
People wouldn't talk about him doing another horror movie if Us was as good as or better than Get Out. I think the argument comes from Get Out seeming to be his peak and now we could be getting a lesser version of it in his next horror films. Obviously it's his third film so it's very premature to call Get out his peak but I think that film was so good and I wouldn't be surprised if it ends up being objectively his best film even if he makes 10 more horror films. I don't think Cronenberg has one film that is objectively superior to the rest he's made. I'd say Peele's next film has to at least be as good and put question marks around whether it is better than Get Out.
