Depends on your reasoning for not f***in wit US. Off first watch I liked it way more than Us. I found Us to be a little predictable and some the story map pointless but still enjoyable. Less cheesy too.

Can someone explain the gordy# storyline and !#how it fits in with the storyline

A lot to process on viewing 1 but here’s all I keep thinking about.

I’ve been toying around with this idea of waking up and smelling the flowers and that eventually to some the flowers are never good enough. For Ricky, Gordo the monkey sparing his life and that aftermath gave him a high of notariety he forever chased. It’s like he was given an opportunity to live his life appreciating his chance to live normally but that was never going to feel as crazy as it did to him after that moment. All he wanted was that high.

Kaluuya being named OJ felt like a clear nod to America’s obsession with other people’s trauma in order to entertain the masses.

And lastly, and I know this is going to sound crazy but Trump. When all we do as a society is consume chaos and spectacle as entertainment, eventually its going to consume us (ie, the cloud). I kept thinking of Trump because of this idea that for years the media gave Trump a platform to spew garbage and nonsense because it drove viewership up and for as awful as he was, people couldn’t keep their eyes off him. Eventually he became the president and we had to sit with this chaos because the country gave him what he wanted: attention.

And those balloons tie in with the big cowboy balloon in the end that took down the UFO

Movie just ended at 1:04am fell asleep for like 5 mins at the end. I enjoyed the film a lot tho

Also the ending shot of Daniel on the horse and Keke seeing him def seemed influenced by Django unchained

controlling things not natural to us can also tie into the theories of man tryna control the weather and other s\*\*\* like that

I agree with this, exactly what I meant by some of the story being pointless cus I never felt scared for the characters and Winston is just a corny actor to me so none of his lines made me laugh. And I felt that way during my first watch.

During this I was into it the entire time and was really blown away by the visuals. Daniel and Keke characters were ying and Yang while still being connected so it made their dynamic very interesting

Only downside was Barbies character, they really gave her a pointless role which sucks

I don't necessarily take movie watching seriously,i just appreciate movies that value my time and give me something to ponder on like Nope. I rather read a book at this point in my life then waste my time watching a cookie cutter movie.

I think the scene after the full Gordy flashback when he’s standing there lost in space before his wife has him practice the show lines showed that no matter how much he tried to bury it he still feels trauma from the incident. It just so happened the high from that survival outweighed any trauma.

Felt like a weird cameo,tgey could've gave that to anybody and had the same effect lol
