I think he means we naturally assume UFOs are this round scary object so that’s how the characters seen em Until the UFO showed it’s true form

Word the message I got from that is we have this scary assumption of UFOs and Aliens that they are these scary looking things but really they might be a beautiful looking unique specimen

I liked how this movie played out like a novel in a way, with the chapters and the random flashbacks to showcase backstory, usually novels will skip around in time and I like that subtle aspect of the film. I guess you can say that had a Tarantino feel to it as well

I wanna know Peele’s writing process for this. I know with Get out he wrote a good amount of back story especially for the secret society and all this information we would never see in the movie. I guarantee he wrote a full f***in story for Stevens character. He was definitely the most unique and crazy how they killed him at the midpoint. I really thought bro was the chosen one and was gonna survive lol

ive definitely thought about it being an angel but since theres no definitive proof or putting 2 and 2 together to figure it out its most likely not. Hope Peele never speaks on what that thing is and lets people speculate

to me the 2 things you can put together is that and the biblical verse at the start. I mean it sets the tone of the film..a biblical verse talking about spectacles. But I like how it’s one those things where the viewer interprets what they see, there’s no definitive answer

I love how we all are able to present our own perspectives of the film and piece the puzzle together, together. That’s really how films should be (not all) Where you walk out the theater maybe a little confused on certain parts but then when you get to discussing you start being opened up to little details you might of missed but someone else caught. This my friend is what you call a layered film.

the fact that this thing literally had 0 intentions to move from out of the cloud unless something was disturbing it or in its territory,tells you everything. It claimed the ranch as its territory and it had 0 intentions to move from that spot,until it was provoked and teased

Daniel was a great choice too because he knows how to convey HORROR with his eyes alone. Look at the get out poster for example. And like I said earlier obviously eyes play a big part in the film

Facts and one might argue “well the UFO is in our territory” but then that becomes a question of: Who was really here first? As humans we are definitely control freaks as a whole, we want to control the weather, we want to control populations and other countries, we want to control relationships, we want to control the way our bodies look, we want to control animals and this movie showcases that by the characters wanting to control the horses, the monkey and the UFO

from the obsession of getting a good pic of the UFO to Gordy losing his mind over popping ballons and Ricky turning that moment into a memorabilia museum to hide his trauma. I'd say that,humans obssession with entertainment is kinda like the villain in this movie butbits not really a villian. Its more like how our obsession with constantly wanting to know/capture every single piece of info we can makes us not care about our surroundings/what we are witnessing right in front of us

i loved how subtle the humor was in this movie. the part where angel starts oversharing about his life when he’s there to set up the cameras felt straight out of a key & peele sketch. i was cracking up too bc i was literally on a customer service call last week when the girl starts telling me ab her kids out of nowhere lmao

Exactly,animals are suppose to be able to be tamed,but what happens when everything goes off the rails? Its like the movie was asking "when everything goes wrong,do you keep filming/watching?

This might be my favorite movie of the year now. We still got a few more to go like Killer moon and Babylon (and hopefully the whale) but damn I think I loved this more than Everything Everywhere

Also don’t forget the cameraman lol bro sacrificed his life to get the perfect shot inside the UFO, I think that scene captures what you saying too because it shows humans will go as far as risking they lives. Kinda the people who chase tornados for fun to get cool video of it (not the ones who use it for study and data)
