I really dont think the shoe means anything,its more about how Ricky was probably thinking about preserving the shoe more then he was thinking about the lives of his co-stars. We think these people are a big happy family,when in reality,he doesn't even know these people,Ricky just knew the show and he knew Gordy more then anyone of his cast members

he was worried about making ends meat wasn't really about the Alien it was about what the Alien could provide. Oj was looking at that s\*\*\* like a job,but a risky job. Everyone else besides Emerald and OJ were actually obsessed with Aliens,they just wanted to make their money

the music definitely played a role but just the whole traumatizing gory backstory of Ricky resembled Lucy Lu character’s backstory and then showing them as an adult right after with the western music playing.

Mainstream audiences might be more mixed as typical with horror movies. The casual crowd expects jumpscares every 5 seconds if it’s a horror and this is more of a thinker and requires patience. But I see it ending on the higher side because it has a satisfying ending and blockbuster feeling.
