There is such a thing as over a***ysis though and while there’s a ton of layers to peel back from here, you can drive yourself mad trying to connect every dot and answer every perceived question. Jordan is obviously aware of this and I think thats why his films tend to be left up to many interpretations but he also said himself that part of the intention With this film, due in large part to that murky period during the pandemic where it seemed like theater was dead, was to create a spectacle. Something people could come to and enjoy whether they understood every plot point or not, just to see some wild s*** on screen. I think over indulging in a***ysis can cause one to miss part of the experience. Which in so many ways, is about the spectacle.

Exactly, I came in to this movie expecting a mind bending experience but it made me not appreciate the movie for how it was. Gotta give it another watch

Jul 22, 2022·2 repliesthe number one thing that lets you know that this movie wasn't necessarily about killing the monster but more or less about how humans treated the monster is the fact that there were 0 guns(besides Gordy getting shot)in this movie. And i think with the material this monster was made out of,it could've seriously been dealt with,with the right kinda fire power.

I agree, never said it is a necessary part of enjoying the film and I think this one can be enjoyed the most out of his 3 if you choose not to do so. I just have seen this take when it comes to his movies, and it seems to be more of a reaction of the theories existing themselves rather than what the theorys are trying to explain. Like folks straight up try and pretend Peele doesn’t do certain things with intent is worse than the ones who reach like crazy.

Gonna see again but off first watch this films underlying intentions seem to be more abstract and less consistent from start to finish than his other 2. I think he allowed himself a lot more freedom with this film doing it that way, and those ideas take a way bigger backseat than Get Out/Us. A fun thrilling movie 1st before anything else.

I don’t get how we’re missing part of the experience by a***yzing what we watched?
You go to the movies, enjoy what’s presented, spectacle and all.
Then you discuss the film with friends and a***yze details.
Then you go back again to enjoy the movie even more.

yeah i wished i never watched it but that is a very well edited trailer. minus the reveals. also after watching the movie, i saw a lot of shots that were left out of the movie
