The movie isn’t that deep it’s a well made monster film with some metaphors and symbolism thrown inI think it has a deeper meaning but I haven't put the pieces together.
What I want to know is why was the alien a representation of a vagina

On my fcking LIFE....I wrote out like 4 f***ing paragraphs going into detail why this is and my f***ing finger mistakeningly hits the home button and all of that is gone.
Not gonna lie to u....kiiiinda discouraged right now.

Within the movie from the start to absolute finish, there are NUMEROUS references to film/filming and even the process of it as well.
From finding an idea, to finding the right equipment, the process of working the equipment, dealing with hiccups (things like the rain, the bug, the motivation) of the filming process.
Even the director character is interesting bc he seems a bit oddly placed in the movie. His unmatched passion for directing is even pressed on. He made his own classic style non electric camera that uses film and the movie even goes out of its way to show the difficulty and process of changing a reel during a shot they need. Even going as far as him mentioning the "magic hour" and trying to get the perfect shot, a underlying theme represented in the final act through the movie itself and especially the last 3 minutes.
It seems to be the case that all this reflects the director of this movies process and their difficulties that he faced either making this or filmmaking in general.
The idea of film and spectacle meeting and having lasting impact upon those who view it or are a part of it.
