Maybe the other candidate was better than you.
You can’t believe they picked someone else over you?
Maybe that other person had more experience and didn’t dodge some of the questions.
yea I get you 100% but you just gotta keep it real cut and dry
like if they’re looking for a sales person and they ask how does your experience make you a fit for the job
Answer: I have a significant amount of experience in sales. My last job I came in with little sales experience but I have a high drive to succeed and to adapt to new environments which helped me to quickly learn the culture of the job and the product. I ended up becoming the first person in the business to sell over a million dollars in product. While I don’t have experience in this particular product niche I also had fairly minimal experience in that product niche but managed to excel because I’m willing to work hard and learn how to succeed regardless of the familiarity of my environment.
Jobs never really know how legit a lot of the stuff on your resume is so you’ve gotta sell it to them at a very basic very real level. Use some stories about stuff that you did at the job to show how you’d succeed
but to me this doesn't
say anything more than i did
it's just more concise
i gave them the why
behind all of my highlights
to me that's MORE value
and adds weight to what i've done
how?
"if you can't tell that i'm a good employee just based on what i am even talking about idk what to tell you"
'i truly am not sure how they could have picked anybody over me after the conversation we had"
'but i just feel like it's not hard to tell that i'm the type of person who is willing to do what it takes not just for me to thrive
but for the company"
you seem to take s*** really personal. and think that because of previous success you are owed opportunities automatically. if they don't pick you they don't pick you bro. this entitled and angry attitude will only hold you back if you intend to work for other people.

i can't believe they picked someone
over me given the reason that they gave
we've established in this thread that they were looking for more concrete details
my whole point is
i gave them the details they needed
but in the interview they stressed getting to know me as a person because this role is about fit

i'm not angry
and i am not entitled
i am simply confident in my abilities
and i am confused when others see it differently
Bro you aren’t owed a job because you gave a good answer

nah man you’re misinterpreting what these places want from you
like sure if I was doing a start up or something I’d want someone who was creative and thoughtful and able to think like that
But these guys want someone who’s basically gonna do a glorified resume walkthrough. Read the application and look at what they ask for: e.g We are seeking a highly driven candidate with sales experience.
Then think about a story from your sales experience that shows you being driven while doing the exact stuff you’d do in this role. E.g achieving 1 million sales targets or coming up with some way to be more efficient. If you wanna showcase out of the box thinking showcase you doing it to be better at the role rather than doing stuff that wasn’t your role. You’re selling them on your ability to succeed at that particular role not on your ability to progress in the company or to shift the culture or etc
Honestly though the fact that you got an interview and a response like this from them shows you made a really good impression. Just tweak your focus a bit during the interview and you’ll be set

once again thank you
for being of sound mind
appreciate you

how does "I am confused when others see things differently than me" not equal entitled?
it is a completely normal thing to not get hired at every job you apply to, believe it or not. maybe if you take in people's critiques of you and try to improve different aspects of yourself, you can find better results in the future
They need a cog man
the reason i'm not upset that i didn't get the role is because that's exactly what i was at my last gig
and that is what makes this funny
i don't wanna be that guy anymore
i've got some cool s*** cooking here in LA...
i feel like my life is just beginning for real
appreciate you

look at what you quoted
and look at what i said
try again
Take the L, learn a lesson and move on. They gave you more feedback than most companies usually do in rejection emails.

it's not an L
but there are
lessons indeed
I feel like it comes down to values at root honestly.
You would value an employer that would hire you off of what you said. As that would be what they valued more. It's pretty simple. Don't change what you value from your previous work experience so that it fits what a company wants to hear. That's how you get a job you don't want.
If they want more huristic information they are going to always want that. If that isn't your vibe you are not fit for the job.
for more context
one of the stories i told was about working in a corporate environment as an IT Technician
i learned how to communicate professionally at that point
that's why i'm not going on what most of y'all are saying
i know how i seem on here
but in real life
i am very concise and professional

very well said
i just got confused because i thought
this company was the company for me
based on their values
i applied to live in one of their communities which is how i got the interview in the first place
another point i was confused about
not saying i'm the only
candidate with this story
but to me that's another data point in my favor

Apparently not. All things happen for a reason.
I just re read Peter Drucker "managing oneself" the other day. It's pretty relevant to this thread maybe give it a read. It's really short

thank you for the rec
i love books like this
appreciate your insight
and i wish you well
i just feel like you don't achieve what i've achieved without doing that stuff
you know?
in having a conversation with me, it's clear that i'm extremely thoughtful and methodical
