how long you been working?
with internships throughout college to now, 6 years.
how?
“ you don't need to gloss over it or go abstract- you can just share the plain facts of what you've done in the past so that employers can tell that your head is in the game and that you're grounded in the realities and details of day-to-day work.”
why weren’t you straight with them

why weren’t you straight with them
because what i did didn't directly relate to the job so i didn't see why they were asking
because my thought was
if they're asking to see
if i'm a good employee
i can prove that by telling them stories
that i feel not only prove i'm a good employee but also show why i'd fit
within the company
the vibe of the interview
was very laid back and
they seemed very interested
in what i was saying
we even went over the allotted time
so it's not like they were like
aight get dude the f*** outta here what was that guy on about?
they were like
the whole time

i feel like my opening message explains that i have seen how companies work and my knowledge bridges the gap between departments
that is very valuable in an employee
would you disagree?
When God allows someone to close the door on you, it's because He wants you to walk down the hall and discover that there's another door that will take you somewhere far better than you could've anticipated
Yeah man im tryna get a job too it really is hard out there
any stories you'd like to share?
you feel like my thoughts are off here?
thank you for the rec
i love books like this
appreciate your insight
and i wish you well
What u trying to do in la btw?
just say thank you for feedback and you are still interested in working with them and your desire to keep in touch
OP you are applying for an entry level customer support role, not to be the CEO of OpenDoor
i just feel like you don't achieve what i've achieved without doing that stuff
you know?
in having a conversation with me, it's clear that i'm extremely thoughtful and methodical
i get what you're saying
but i just feel like it's not hard to tell that i'm the type of person who is willing to do what it takes
not just for me to thrive
but for the company

how do you not hire this guy?
bro stop trying to be a brand
it's all so fake and people are REALLY over that mentality in 2021, unless you want to work with other sociopaths in sales
this is some verbal diarrhea
your linkedin should be a paragraph at most it's called a f***ing summary
What u trying to do in la btw?

i can't talk about it publicly yet
i'm hoping to drop off a
demo at stones throw as well
just because i've always wanted to haha
i love this clip because i feel like
it captures me when i'm just being myself
i'm trying to capture this energy in my music

how do you not hire this guy?
Yeah I can tell you either not fit with their work culture or you pushed too hard with your answers.
Sort of like
Office Manager - "where do yourself in 5 years?"
You - " An office Manager at this company "
Office Manager - "oh"
Not saying the convo above is not what you did to be exact, but it feels like you droned on and on in your answer instead of just concrete concise answer.
You just listed your traits and anyone can do that
just say thank you for feedback and you are still interested in working with them and your desire to keep in touch
that's what i did as soon as i read it
i will likely send another email expressing that i misread the room and that i'd love to connect again after reflecting over their feedback
not necessarily today but maybe in the future
i know they see what i'm trying to do
it's just not time right now
nahmean

You just listed your traits and anyone can do that
but that's kind of my point
why do we have all these rules about what we can and can't do in interviews
we were just three humans talking
nahmean
that's their vibe
idk if y'all have experience with intentional communities
but they operate like hippie communes kind of
just for more context on what they are like
They clearly were intimated by you
They wanted a robot, not a leader
i appreciate your thought
but i am curious
what makes you say that i am a leader?

i got an 8:30 rez at Dorsia
i appreciate your thought

Well, I don’t actually know if you are. I just know, based on your description, that their impression of you was one of a person who seems to follow their own approach that may or may not philosophically clash with theirs. It’s masked in rhetoric about your experience or lack their of but ultimately, it appears to me at least, they just wanted to know if you were capable of following their rules.

i resonate with this
thank you for sharing
i am building my own things, and i hope to reach out to them for advice from time to time
i truly am not upset at not getting the role, i mostly just wanted to learn how their business operates because i'd like to create something in the same realm
i believe coliving is the future and i think it could help make our world a better place
