I dont see him getting the mass support he usually gets tbh and if he's going to rely on timberland this time, might as well throw in the towel because timbelands production lately has been ashy

    who's timberland?

I like the song, but I think it’s waaaaay too safe for JT.

Aside from Suit & Tie and Take Back The Night, this is his most safest lead single.

I was hoping that we’d get a genre pushing song like Sexy Back or Like I Love You, or even Filthy for that matter.

Hopefully he has heat for this album, but I gotta admit, this is a minor letdown for me.

I get what you're saying. I think everyone expected a pop sound from Justin, but a raunchy pop song verses a kids bop pop song. I think has to play it safe to connect with the current music generation.

He knows he needs a radio song to keep him inside the Top 40. It's ok, I bet the rest of the album will be groovy (just look at the twitter video further up)

Can someone remind me why some people are "against" Justin Timberlake? Isn't for Britney Spears right? She been irrelevant musically since...forever? Also when we talk about music, we are talking about MUSIC not gossip BS I don't care who cheated who or f*** with who lol Britney doesn't have a single classic on the level of Justin Timberlake lol her career was a moment in pop culture but no one listen to Spears full albums in 2024 and think that's art.

bro lost weight, looks good and returned to his old sound, kinda - be happy that we get some good music out of it instead of complaining about genre pushing

So we’re supposed to just shut up and like whatever he gives us?

But you can get a Top40 without having the placate to the current sound.

    JT is usually a trailblazer

Aging sucks, in a span of 10 years man went from being on top to being awkward and corny

You can't stay on top forever. The goal is continuing to make good music. He is an aging popstar and it's only natural that people will move on to tne next thing. It's about being respected and leaving a legacy.

    Justin’s peers:

Xtina: last successful album was in 2006 💀

Britney: retired and last big era was in 2011

Usher: legacy act now but with a big “fanbase”

P!nk: she kept getting hits until recently and she’s a massive touring act, but her albums post 2013 are not doing well

Beyoncé is literally the only exception.

I think this idea that he should compete with the current popular acts rn is nonsense. Everyone has their era. One day, The Weeknd and Harry Styles will be legacy acts as well.

The goal is to get some stable hits, album sales and sell tickets.

Eventually, I think becoming a touring act like P!nk would be the goal, tbh. Justin has the catalogue. He should have the privilege of playing stadiums or arenas in most markets with his hits. He needs to remind people of his showmanship and music.

I hope we get a world tour with this album.

    Reminds me of Phil Collins

    1986 - Invisible Touch (#1 hit)
1996 - Dance into the Light (corny old man)

Partly his fault for going the MOTW route and also not coming out of hiding until he has a album or a soundtrack.
