You can say hov benefitted by having ye around from the early/mid 2000s to mid 2010s, but he would still be a large big name rapper regardless. I think Kanye was very critical from Blueprint 3 to Watch the Throne in terms extending Jay-Z’s career to a younger audience. Jay’s career of course was already cemented, but I think it would be revisionist history to not acknowledge he was kinda in a weird space creatively without Kanye during that era.

There are some dinosaur moments during that time period.
