My tell tell sign is when they lump vol 1 or american gangster in with his “mid albums” like yeah u didnt listen lol
Roc la familia is better than any of the in my lifetimes to me personally
Niggas on this website act like Hov isn’t even a top 25 rapper lol
He's in my top 5
that account is run by a person who was like 5 when blueprint came out lol
who cares
i was like 2 when that album came out and i know that tweet is stupid as hell
Go through his catalog and take out the kanye songs. "Saving" is obviously hyperbolic in today's time when everything is either goat or woat, but I think it's fair to question if Jay becomes a global star without those songs
I’m not tryna say Kanye didn’t help Jay Z but Jay Z helped Kanye too lol.
Like even taking out Kanye’s songs like yeah it hurts bc they have classics but Jay still has 7/10 of his most successful billboard songs because Ye has no involvement in them lol

Vol 1 is some of the best s*** in Jay’s catalog to me
One In A Million, Imaginary Players, Friend or Foe II, Where Im From, Who U Wit, You Must Love Me, Lucky Me all one one album is crazy
But I def rank dynasty over vol 2 & 3
I have seen it be said that Ye saved Twistas career though lol. Not sure if there’s validity to that,
But I think this Jay Z narrative is definitely new
you can say kanye saved common’s and pusha t’s careers because he gave them a big boost when they were kind of at a crossroads and helped give post retirement jay a second wind but people give him way more credit than he deserves for his helping some established people

Someone who was 5 when Blueprint came out is damn near 30 years old man
You can be knowledgeable about something that happened before you were a born/were a kid that nigga is just stupid

when i reached like 20 years old in my lifetime became the best jay album to me outside of the immovable top 4 with RD, BP, black album, and 444
Also let's not forget TWO of these albums happened
the fiesta remix was going too crazy
when i reached like 20 years old in my lifetime became the best jay album to me outside of the immovable top 4 with RD, BP, black album, and 444
BP the only one of those 4 that are better than Vol 1 to me
American Gangster too but I def get why they arent like the unanimous picks especially vol 1 bc the singles are so bad.
Vol 1 took forever to click but thats the best that nigga ever rapped Omm
Jay Z always needed hot producers and Kanye definitely gave him some swag sauce as well. Jay Z as a business man probably never needed Kanye that much though.

vol 1 has some pretty low points but that might’ve been jay at his most honest and candid aside 444 like lucky me is one of the greatest hip hop songs of all time to me

Only 2 misses Sunshine and I Know What Girls Like (worst jay song to me)
I will die for every other joint on that album
Saved implies his career was in danger, which would be incorrect
If anything, ye helped prolong jay's career and helped introduced a younger audience to his music. You can say hov benefitted by having ye around from the early/mid 2000s to mid 2010s, but he would still be a large big name rapper regardless. There are numerous producers that he could've used instead (how much this effects his career, I couldn't guess)
He produced 1/3 of the songs which is more than anybody else on the album but it’s still overstated
If we talking with bonus tracks Just also got 4
Lyrical Exercise is underrated
Beyoncé helped Jay crossover more than anything. Bro pulled the baddest (black)woman on the planet, also one of the most recognizable/known singers on the planet as well. Opened up a whole other demographic for Jay.
Beyoncé helped Jay become a true celebrity tbh.
Ding Ding Ding
The person who posted that tweet is an Indian living in India and has been exposed many times. y’all carry on tho…lol
I think Kanye was very critical from Blueprint 3 to Watch the Throne in terms extending Jay-Z’s career to a younger audience. Jay’s career of course was already cemented, but I think it would be revisionist history to not acknowledge he was kinda in a weird space creatively without Kanye during that era.
There are some dinosaur moments during that time period.
