JbreezyondeckWhen we gonna admit that just because an artist takes a long time in between projects doesn’t mean that it’ll be that much better (or worse) and doesn’t even necessarily mean they were working on that project for that amount of time
This. People always tell artists who are consistent/active with releasing music to "take a break" so they can be inspired but there's no direct correlation with taking a break and returning with something great. In fact, most musicians with a legendary run of albums did so during a period of time when they didn't necessarily take time off.

JaWickDon't get me wrong the album was great, Kendrick was spitting real s*** and the production was great. But none of the songs really made me want to go back to it like that like his older albums. DAMN, GKMC, and TPAB all had stuff on there I'd spin for months. This one felt different tho idk, like it was made purely for critics to show he still got it.
I can agree with that,i have no real desire to actually go back to MMBS.(and I've heard other people say similar stuff) It definitely has something to do with how cohesive and heavy the message Kendrick is trying to get across is. Great piece of art you just think about from time to time lol
