yeah I had read a while ago that the period setting was really starting to eat into budget predictions, Marty wasn't gonna settle for cut corners apparently

got a feeling Apple will probably put the money down tbh, they've got that dough for sure and they'd love that clout at this early point in their movie/TV production business

Hollywood was really just big sets. I think there are likely going to be some action setpieces here that will take up a lot of money.

This Oscar shut thing makes no sense? lol

“Hey Netflix let’s do a movie together”

Movie gets 10 nominations, including best director, best picture, etc

“Yeah let’s not work together again”

I think he didn’t like having to edit his film down

would like to see marty on a smaller budget tbh. would love a raw feel similar to taxi driver and mean streets.

    Apple saves the day

After months of figuring out budget concerns over Martin Scorsese’s “Killers of the Flower Moon” adaptation, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Paramount has enlisted Apple to get the film over the hump.

Sources tell Variety, Paramount will still distribute the murder mystery drama with Apple coming on to finance the pic and also serve as the films creative studio.

wow....still don't understand that production cost

i've read most the book (need to go back to finish) and i just didn't see how this was that expensive but i trust it in Marty's hands

hoping the partial finance part doesn't mean this a full on exclusive or anything

"During the recent announcement that Apple has partnered with Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio to finance their Killers of the Flower Moon adaptation, Variety revealed that a production start date on the movie has not yet been set, leaving DiCaprio potentially interested in a number of other projects to do before Killers of the Flower Moon gets started. **One of the films the Oscar winner is reportedly eyeing is Adam McKay’s Netflix comedy Don’t Look Up. If DiCaprio joins the sci-fi satirical comedy film, he will star alongside Oscar winners Jennifer Lawrence (Hunger Games, Silver Linings Playbook, American Hustle) and Cate Blanchett (Blue Jasmine, The Aviator, Carol)."
