His commentary was uninsightful and unnecessary. He's talking about something an 7 or 8 year old girl did years ago. Calling her stupid for s*** that is her mom's fault.

And Kodak is not a savory character. We should go through his record and check how much he needs to be whooped. He has a big log in his eye and he didn't even say anything smart about the topic.

Sometimes whoopings are necessary, sometimes they aren't. I didn't get whooped after every little thing I did, but when I crossed that line, I got the belt. A mix of timeouts, talking things out, with a little bit of the belt is gold imo.

I don’t like this argument because everything isn’t on the parent lol. You can raise your child with nothing but love and respect but they’ll go to school and meet Ray and think he’s cool and start acting like that. People tend to forget about outside factors when it come to a child’s behavior. We ALL know people like that.

It’s not abuse. No one is punching kids in the face. A spanking on the ass is typically what people are talking about when they say whooping/beating. At least that’s what I got. A little discipline when I was acting out. Reason the kids are so disrespectful today cuz parents been too p**** to do anything but say “Ok Jacob it’s time to stop stop doing that now”

Part of the reason people are against spanking and other forms of corporal punishment is because of how vehemently it warps perceptions and acceptance of punishment, especially when it is intergenerational.

You see it in here - people are literally saying that kids will not respond to any form of punishment that is not physical. People are acting like kids are not smart enough to understand words, actions, and consequences if they aren't reinforced with physical violence.

There is a plethora of scientific research that says that spanking is not an effective form of punishment, and is generally correlated with various negative outcomes developmentally and even into adulthood. It also forms a cognitive connection with the child - it teaches them that people in their life who love them will physically punish them, and that cognitive understanding acts in direct opposition to what a parent is supposed to be - an understanding and loving, but firm caregiver.

You are not a bad person if you think spanking your child is fine, especially if it was done to you. But please understand that part of your reasoning is most likely because of the cognitive warping and biases that occurred because it happened to you. Every professional organization decries this as does much of the world outside of the United States. Just think about it critically instead of thinking "I turned out fine"

It’s as simple as you did something wrong and other methods haven’t worked, you’re continuing to be bad when you know better, you’re getting the belt

There’s not some kind of deeper meaning to it, most parents probably hate to have to do it but for some kids it helps, some it doesn’t.

You’re not a bad parent or abusive for it and anyone who genuinely thinks that is a f***ing imbecile

What i was saying was more on the parents that on the child. Like if u feel u need to whoop ur kid, are u parenting right, like did u really exhaust every option to discipline ur kid that doesnt involve hitting them?

Obviously like u said, u cant control what influences ur kid outside of the house, the most u can do its show them whats good for them and what not

Personally I’m not going to whoop my kid(s) because I don’t have the heart, I couldn’t even discipline my younger siblings but I do get why parents do it. I don’t agree with making it your go to method if the situation doesn’t call for it. I will say some parents do f*** up by doing that. Whoopings should always be the last resort, unless a child just completely wild out, then I’d say it’s necessary. I agree with the last sentence too. It’s hard out here for parents, that’s why I can see both sides of the argument. Instead of arguing people should understand each other’s pov and give advice or tips they feel like would work or have worked for them.
