he says kendrick has a savior complex but that isn't demonstrated anywhere in this song. kendrick is remorseful and introspective about black culture--where is the savior complex coming from?
then the entire nipsey breakdown he mistakes as kendrick talking about himself and it all comes off as really cringe

i thought "look at what i've done for you" was referring to the hood/culture, hence the "i want the hood" line
and i dont think kendrick was talking much about himself at all in this song
perhaps as an addendum to the other figures in the video by osmosis of being a black celebrity figure, but otherwise i dont think he was talking much about himself

The hook was relating to nipsey. The narrative when he died was look at all he did for his neighborhood just to die in it.
That entire first verse was a build up to the nipsey part.
That’s why Kendrick said I am, all of us.
