A Woman Under the Influence

Actually thought that Gena Rowlands had issues and was cast because of that, because she gets lost in the role in a good way. Strong performance.

Very upsetting film. The husband is a Grade A unfeeling meathead. Also, film can be frustratingly long in-between scenes but that's how willing the movie is to get hyper realistic. Will never watch this again but I'm glad I did.

Deep Cover

Slickly directed, with gorgeous cinematography (seriously, watch it for this alone), and some 90s cheese here and there (gets a bit writerly, but it felt like a conscious decision). Ultimately, depressing, but takes some detours in its standard actioner formula, which helps it to become above average.

Jeff Goldblum is in this too and he had solid chemistry with Morpheus.

amazing film, probably my all time favorite Jeff Goldblum performance (its either this or Hideaway). Bill Duke should've directed more films.

I think I saw the second or the third one first, and was shocked when I found out there were more. They are so good, need to watch again, I still tell people about men and women coming out of a coma. Don’t know if that factoid is true but I run with it.
