6.5/10
Interesting premise and some funny moments but fell off towards the end. An M.night type disappointment but more gradual

Scavenger's Reign.
I'd recommend this show to fans of sci-fi with some mild horror, but I have a feeling it's flora and fauna would annoy actual biologists because it's not the most logical playground.
The premise is fascinating: human beings are stranded on an alien planet after their spaceship, The Demeter, suffers a collision because of navigating into a shaky pathway.
On paper, it doesn't sound like much, but for at least the first 5-6 episodes, the show is enthralling in its almost documentary-like approach to this alien world, plus the character moments make you care more as the plot slowly progresses. The most interesting character is an assistant robot slowly turning sentient from the planet.
Once the show becomes plot heavy in the latter half of the series, it loses all steam and the characters are suddenly stupid or make some questionable decisions for the plot to progress. A trio of characters is introduced without any necessary build up, but hey, the show needs a baddie at the end of the series. The plot and character decisions at this point are either cliché, or so stupid that you're yanked right out any immersion that this world provided, so in the end, I can't really recommend this show but do check it out if any of this made you curious.
I really liked this. I think it’ll be especially nostalgic for my fellow Chicagoans who grew up in the 90s but others will still get something out of it. It was beautifully shot and Jurnee Smollet + the kids give great performance, I teared up a bit. Ngl I was shocked to learn after that the writer/director is Pakistani
I saw oddity tonight. It was creepy but I am SICK of the horror movie formula. It just isn't believable
Finished Mandy and wow what a bizarre movie it was interesting though unlike anything i’ve seen. Nick Cage was great in it.
