    You're losing it here

I just told you the myriad of other avenues for labels to profit beyond just a first week sale figure.

If she has a mediocre first week sale number, but continues to increase in popularity, and her touring, merchandising, licensing, etc. all continue to increase, the label can recoup and profit that way without her being a box office first week artist.

She very likely is signed to a deal in which the label gets a piece of everything Latto does.

No one is saying first week sales is most important obviously overall sales matter more. First week sales are only a small percentage of that. But latto is not some huge artist she doesnt even have an album eligible for platinum yet.

Because their hype is all smoke and mirrors by the labels nobody actually listens to them.

  • Hurry Up Fader

It’s not really a her issue, it seems to be a problem plaguing newer female rappers.

Almost all of them are super viral online, very popular celebrities, and all of them have big hit singles.

But literally none of them are capable of dropping an album that can sell at least 100K first week, and I’m not sure why.

Literally the only one time it happened was Meg’s Good News back in 2020, and it literally cleared 100K even.

Between 2019 and now, there hasn’t been a single other female rap album to clear 100K besides Pink Friday 2, but Nicki is an established legend at this point

their labels have gaslit the public to believe a narrative that somehow female rappers are outselling the men or outdoing the men when they never sell more albums than them

You’re just not making much sense.

First you said the sales figure doesn’t matter because she’s streaming well, but that’s not true.

Then you said well it doesn’t matter because she tours well and sells a lot of merch, two more things that aren’t true.

And now you’re saying well the label is okay with the low sales because they think she can transition to being a big licensing artist, which is something that hasn’t happened yet

It’s just Internet dorks that hate on Ice Spice try to make Latto seem like she’s bigger than she actually is

Same dorks that hate on Cardi too

    Not more than streaming

People's listening habits when it comes to albums do not include actually buying the album

What tells you who listens to you on the daily is your a***ytics.

In an era where no one really post streaming era moves crazy units, this is a great indicator that people actually are listening to Latto for instance, despite mediocre 1st week numbers

Her entire fanbase is filled with young people who stream music. How would sales indicate much about who's listening to her on the daily?

Was never any real hype she just got a good team that get her name out there but as you can see theres no real fans which is sad because the Girl is actually a good rapper, but people see her as the female drake somewhat. you see her lil atl remake of her acting like nunu? It’s so force with the whole “hood” accent she’s been exposed a couple time for cosplaying as a hood chick people don’t find her as authentic the same with saweetie

A lot of these artist aren’t suited for doing big numbers album wise. Their calling is to drop big singles and eat off those records.

    A 100K in this era is = to 300-400k in the 2010s

    latto is a manufactured star

  • for a lot of these artists the album is a dead format the same reason their shows are flopping they dont really offer anything of value

but..I didn't say that lol but I knew someone would bring up big energy. the hype barely counts because its sampled from a famous Mariah Carey song. shes a one hit wonder at best.

I said nobody cared about her outside of that name controversy and they still don't, without the name change included. I've seen nothing about her album coming out, only stuff about her beefing with ice spice.
