    That's fair enough. I've heard more stories on the benefits of beatings than the negatives, but I fear our reaction to Selah's account is the reason why: people are too scared to say this was traumatic for them

    I mean some kids may look at it as trauma, others won't.

    In this case it does seem like her beatings weren't warranted and stemmed from issues happening with Lauryn in which case I disagree with.

    Yeah, I feel like more discussions about child discipline should be had more by our generation because it seems like kids growing up now are more out of pocket because of lack of alternative methods of discipline

    I think a lot of kids now don’t respect people older people in general and always have to talk back (kids teens) whether it’s at a job or a teacher etc

    I'm saying. Abuse is very real, and very wrong. A beating for acting up isn't abuse however. Unless you go OD like my pops used to 😭😭 but nothing wrong with getting ya ass tapped for misbehaving

    If you don't wanna beat ya kids that's fine. However if it leads to them becoming spoiled and/or not worried about repercussions for their behavior or actions, don't be surprised if they end up getting their ass beat by someone in the streets cause they tried the wrong person.

    if u have to beat your kid to set them straight instead of actual parenting
