Deja Vu > Recovery
and i like some of recovery lol
DEJA VU was the closest thing to recovery on Relapse
you like a song that doesnt even fit with the rest of the album and was the blueprint to the album you say is worse
never ever forget
everyone was disappointed with relapse and f***ed with recovery
tyler the creator rotted your brains
Recovery hit when I was in middle school and that dropped and I was playing RDR online. So I have that nostalgic connection
Relapse probably. Just because there's some vintage em.
Recovery has mega smash hits but I could do without like half of the album
You cut about 3 songs off relapse or replace with refill songs and it's pretty good
words cant describe how happy i am to see this thread
the answer is and always was Recovery and everyone who disagrees is a f***ing try hard
Ehhh Relapse has aged really well and I think it's become a bit of a cult classic for a lot of reasons along with Tyler hyping it up
The Dre production is f***ing amazing.
Eminem is hungry as f*** after a long 5 year hiatus
And it doesn't feel like he's trying too hard, it sounds like he made this weird ass album that he wanted. Apparently he was inspired by watching a lot of horror movies while getting clean and as much as Recovery is more "mature" it does feel like he's trying hard to get radio plays with some of those pop features at times.
And again, I still like some of Recovery but to me it's a 5 while Relapse is an 8.5 I like how he talked about his pill popping struggles but didn't make it too cheesy. Relapse just feels cooler to me in a lot of ways. I always agreed with Tyler on that, and I used to love recovery when I was a teenager but now its fine I respect it but Relapse has some bangers that feel more like classic Em.
i truly believe everyone saying relapse is an absolute try hard
how tf did you f*** with relapse this much
i was online when it dropped everyone was like WHAT the f*** is this trash thats why em dropped recovery
you guys really f***ed with
"Man, stop moshin' Marshall; oh my God, ya
Doing the cha-cha and the Cucaracha with a quadra–
–plegic, boogying down to Frank Sinatra
Lindsay to the Lohan, lick it while you let me watch ya
Who'da knew the Buddha'd do to me what it's done?"
???
cause the rhyme schemes were good?
you guys are all capping
never ever forget
everyone was disappointed with relapse and f***ed with recovery

I vividly remember buying Relapse on release and my friends and I trying to learn all the lyrics
I’m not saying that everyone loved the album, because it definitely got a lot of hate .
But there was definitely people who f***ed with it on release
em legit spit
"fuck my last CD, that s***'s in my trash
I'll be God-damned if another rapper gets in my ass"
and you guys are trying to mk ultra this s*** and say it was loved f*** you

No, I like the whole album aside from Underground and We Made You (Just personal preference) Hello is probably my 2nd favorite or Stay Wide Awake.
Yes it's similar in theme to Recovery but it does Recovery's theme better than Recovery. It doesn't feel too forced or corny. It just feels like Em is talking to his fans about his struggles in a way that most of us can relate to without having to play a sad beat or getting too intense, it feels very natural, reminds me of the way he'd talk about his life on SSLP or MMLP for instance, it just feels like classic Em storytelling, it can be funny at times kind of a sad clown thing too. And again I like some of the serious tracks on Recovery but I just think it's clear Relapse is way more his style it feels more authentic than him talking about s*** while Pink sings.

bro how does hello or stay wide awake make you feel like em is talking about his struggles thats relatable or classic storytelling
Fe-fi-fo-fum, I think I smell the scent of a placenta
I enter Central Park, it's dark, it's winter in December
I see my target, put my car in park and approach a tender
Young girl by the name of Brenda and I pretend to befriend her
Sit down beside her like a spider, hi there girl, you might've
Heard of me before, see w****
You're the kind of girl that I'd assault and rape
Then figure why not try to make your p**** wider
F*** you with an umbrella
Then open it up while the s***'s inside ya

Hello always gave me vintage Em vibes

I'm sure he got many people to give it a chance who maybe wouldn't have before he talked about it, sure. (I already was a fan of it, not a superfan mind you) But who cares? I think that's cool. It's a pretty niche album and he's always been real about his takes on s***. He's into lots of weird music plenty of people don't f*** with, he listens to mostly exclusively jazz lmao (which I'm not as into)

I never claimed all the songs talked about his struggles??? I was talking about specifically Deja Vu buddy.
I enjoy those songs because they're fun to listen to, have good beats and flows/stories
relapse fans are the fakest fans in all of hip hop
You got a problem?

Who cares if he hated Relapse? He also defended Revival lmao. That's fine but I don't agree. And I don't think it's flawless or anything but to me it's a hell of a lot more interesting and creative than a lot of his recent stuff aside from some moments and mmlp2 maybe.

yeah your taste is trash ty sweaty
"idk its just the rhyme schemes and lyricism that makes relapse so incredible to me"
"You get him? Naw, f***er tried to bite my face off
I just got f***ing chased off with a chainsaw
Then he took the chainsaw, bit the f***ing blades off
Ate the blades, stuck a baseball in a slingshot
Then he aimed at his own face let the thing pop
Took his eye out picked it up and played ping pong
Then he played ping pong with his own ding dong
That motherfucker's got nuts like king kong"
