Just listen to other genres and revisit rap when you feel like it, it's not like you married to it

If you still love rap from before this era, you're not "losing love" for rap.

You're just getting older and the newer acts are targeting a new demographic.

It's fine and it's perfectly normal. A lot of 90's rap fans didn't feel Wayne or Kanye when they blew up either cause of their age.

2020 had a lot of great rap projects that I still listen to. If you know where to look, there's still great music being made.

Rap in particular got hit hard with the fast food music over the past two three years.

S*** is sad to witness. People caping for bottom of the barrel music and praising it like it's some f***ing masterpiece they're talking about is even sadder to see.

Not that it’s becoming bad per se, some of the best artists are finally coming back. More of its just not giving me the same feeling it used to.

Like with this Cole album, I wanted to listen to it. Listened twice, I think it’s great, but I’m not coming back to it daily.

Then for example After Hours has been my most played project of the last year. My second most played project was Men I Trust’s live album. Played both of those projects religiously and still to this day. I find myself getting more excited for R&B and Pop than I do for rap. Like I don’t even want rappers to succeed anymore and that’s f***ing sad.

Edit: I think I’ve been depressed for the last year and so somber music has been my thing.

    just getting older, brother

    don't stress it

    you'll connect with what
    connects with you

Can’t even use the new school excuse because I like Baby Keem and Don Toliver for example. I’m just not longing for new projects like I used to. Like when they drop I’m like “cool” and I’ll for sure listen to it.
