Because the beauty of Twin Peaks is its absurdness, wackiness, obscure characters mixed with the mystical town. Watching a lot of Lynch before heading into Peaks is softening the blow of all of those characteristics because those styles are in his movies too. I’m sure you’ll still enjoy it because it’s Lynch/Frost on x10.
Aight so just as i was expecting then. I'll try to go into TP with as much of a blank mind as possible
S2 for like an 6-8 episode stretch completely loses its way because Frost and Lynch momentarily left the show. Honestly i'd say watch it cus the very small parts that are worth it still build up a plot point that is important for the whole series. It's bad/goofy but not as bad as people claim and once its over the end episodes of the season are great especially when Lynch directs the last episode
just pushing through it should be fine. i skipped some parts first time i watched it, lowkey regretted it (even though i saw a summary) then watched everything my second run with my gf and yeah i recommend just watching
yea def gonna just peep everything
Yeah i feel you, it's been the case for me as well on every first watch. But for MD, LH & Eraserhead i feel are pretty ''straight forward'' if you go into a rewatch with some sort of idea of what to look out for
It probably didn’t help that I was high as s*** watching both also
Watching eraserhead under the influence was a truly strange experience
obligatory Lynch ranking. too difficult to rank the OG Twin Peaks because of the production problems. Season 1 would be #3 tho.
1. Lost Highway
2. Mulholland Drive
3. Eraserhead
4. Blue Velvet
5. Twin Peaks: The Return
6. Inland Empire
7. Wild At Heart
8. The Straight Story
9. Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with me
10. Dune
11. The Elephant Man
i just started twin peaks: the return for the first time on saturday and already like 12 episodes in
im def gonna go on a lynch binge after this. i've only seen mulholland drive, fwwm, and eraserhead so i cant wait to see his other stuff
Nigga was dumb h**** when he made this
David was buggin lol
You sure youre not thinking of Blue Velvet

Nah I know what I'm talm bout lol. This film h**** af my g, its the entire thematic core of the movie, alongside all the identity stuff
Nigga was engorged

I mean it's there but it's a lot less in your face than Blue Velvet
If you think Lynch was h**** while making this film then try watching a film by Gaspar Noé and get back to me

How you make a thread and ain't watch the movie??
Noe just on his sensory overload/provacateur s***, that isn't what's on display in lost highway but it's def more pronounced than all of his films
It's at the core of the movie just like twin peaks
Yeah very true. Although i think Blue Velvet was my first Lynch. But i've learned to go into something Lynch related with a blank state of mind. Expectations ruined Mulholland Drive for me on my first watch. Lynch films go from confusing but interesting to WOW inbetween your first watch and a rewatch. It's so crazy, like i've never had this much of a contrast before with any other director
Once you ''get'' it it's like a whole new film uncovers in front of your eyes

I'm just saying man, you're not used to the exposure of much s***on film if you think THIS is h****. Yes s***plays a big part in connecting the storylines in Lost Highway but that's about it.
Like i said, pick any random Gaspar Noé movie and get back to me you'll see
Yeah sure you could PM me but i'm not sure if i have anything to offer in that regard. Most books i read currently are esoteric books and not fictional stories so.. but by all means pmo if you got some fye to share
Really love it but for some reason it doesn't stick with me nearly as much as most of his other stuff.

I'm not putting this on you but I really feel like if people stopped telling those who haven't seen it yet about that episode run in season 2, they wouldn't really notice the quality dip nearly as much. I had no idea about it when I got into TP and there was definitely a part of me that was frustrated that they deviated so far away from the main story, but I still enjoyed myself a lot. It was only after I finished season 2 when I became aware of its reputation.

You’re right. I only had fell into it cus he mentioned he heard it and I wanted to clear it up.
It’s something that def impacted my first run through. And then when I actually saw it was nowhere near as long or even as bad as I thought
