The house is so empty, like what we see in the shots is all that he could remember and didn't care to fill in the blanks some more

They get under your skin same way a weird dream does, why you asking?

Been wanting to get into his filmography but I don’t really like watching scary movies since I’m usually watching right before bed

Well the only film of his that has actual horror like moments is Inland Empire, which i wouldn't recommend to watch anyway if youre not familiar with Lynch his work

Like i said though, most of his films are scary because they feel ''off'' the same way something just doesn't feels right in a dream

If that bothers you as well, i'd suggest to watch something more straight forward and less abstract like Wild At Heart, which is a roadmovie with a crazy couple a la True Romance on cocaine

However Mulholland Drive is his ultimate masterpiece to most people (me included, although it took me 2 watches to really appreciate it) so that's the one i'd always suggest to people. It has 1 jumpscare fairly on in the beginning but that's about it

Also his films having a feeling of uneasiness is mostly achieved through a combination of things being really odd, funny and tense. I wouldn't describe any of his films as outright horror. Just very surreal

edit: by the way idk how good of an idea it is to watch his films right before bed, because his films are like puzzles that really makes you wanna think about them after youre done. I watched some of his films right before bed the first time and instead of sleeping i stayed up wondering about all the things i saw

youre welcome bro Lynch one of my favorite directors, but it might take a minute for his work to connect with you. I needed a rewatch for every film of his before i fell in love with it so don't stress it if you don't immediately ''get'' it

Just saw this in 4K in the theater. First time. Damn this might actually be my fav “weird” lynch movie. I’m one of those folks that has elephant man and straight story in my top 3.

Great movie about insecurity in a relationship it’s like a more easier to consumed version of eraserhead.
