Gotta be the most talented musician of the past 100 years if we were strictly talking about musical ability and quality of content.

Bro dropped his first album at 19 and played all 27 instruments himself. Who doing that? The hits, critical reception, and longevity was nuts. Mans is considered be among the greatest live performers of all time. Legend of the game.

tbh, musically speaking i don't think it's even close. Prince is a literal God in the studio. A one man band in every sense of the word. Not knocking MJ but we all know he had a strong team behind him. Prince was the team.

MJ had pure hardline mainstream commercial status which is why he's more widely known than Prince

MJ didn't have the depth of artistry that Prince had even though MJ became cemented into American curriculum
