radio should not be having that big of an influence on the chart, the change is good
This was 100% a reaction to the abysmal performance of new music in 2025
Hundred percent
2026 gonna look like everyone selling out the store now

I wonder what effect this is gonna have on albums. Will they get even longer now that less streams = more numbers, or will artists no longer feel the need to pad out their projects with as many tracks as possible?
based off this how much could some of these albums have done
Would love to see someone good with math post how much recent albums would’ve sold with these rule changes

It depends on the ratio between free and premium streams but in general gotta be like 1.3x or something
E.g. 10M free streams + 10M premium streams
Before: 8000+2667=10 667 units
After: 10000+4000=14 000 units (+31%)
15M free + 5M premium
Before: 4000+4000=8 000 units
After: 5000+6000=11 000 units (+37.5%)
If it was only free streams, it would be +50% units
If only premium => +25% units
Who the hell cares
