I guess this new rule will help the younger and newer artists, but they going to find out that they ain't getting paid either lmao
Yeah I was thinking people like Taylor, K-Pop people I don’t know, Beyonce, Drake, Morgan Wallen will be the biggest beneficiaries from this
Not sure why they need a boost so bad tho, do something for the smaller artists so they can actually eat
cause Michael Jackson about to bring a lot of attention to how dominant he was on billboard in 4 months

IDK math, does this make it possible for the top rappers to start selling 1M again? (show work)

doesnt impact rap too much tbh
Apple music doesnt really have a free version, so streams get a 20% boost there.

No, not at all.
The average number of streaming units first week across all new #1 albums in 2025 was 133K. This rule change is not big enough to make that number jump all the way to where rappers start doing near a million in streaming units first week.
This will most likely only heavily impact albums that were already doing big streaming numbers (like the ones that do 300K+ first week streaming). 300K in streaming will become somewhere between 425K and 450K
Fun fact dua lupa is the msot notoriious raido abuser . Once she lost the radio pull, u see who really cares
In simple terms: Premium streams are now weighted 20% higher, and ad-supported streams are weighted 33% higher

Billboard is so irrelevant my god
nigga in the tweets above said wow to a forced reality
ya’ll are witnessing how they can just print money out of thin air and make up value lmao, even billboard said f*** it, fudge the stats and present it as a good thing for artists 😂
Billboard stop being reliable as soon as artists started exploiting bundles (Taylor, Travis, weeknd etc)
With bot farms nowadays and ai, streams aren't an accurate reflection of consumption
The real marker is live ticket sales
they waited til now to make this change to block Thug from going #1

definitely not when TM & LN price gouge real fans out of being able to attend
