You both got trash taste, what's the problem

  • Ghoma

I’ve been dating her for 5 months, and everything has been going well. Here’s the kicker, our music taste is like the completely opposite of each other. To give you a picture, I enjoy mostly hip-hop/rap with a touch of R&B. Think of rappers like Schoolboy Q, Zaywop, or Problem. On the flip side, she enjoys either hyper feminist music or calm stuff in the vein of Adele or Teddy Swims.

I don’t think it’s a big deal per se? Whenever I play my s*** in the whip she gets real quiet and sometimes even little uncomfortable with the lyrics. Played RIP Kevin Miller to show her the greatness of Isaiah but the vibes were real real awkward to say the least. However, she did f*** with some calmer or lo-fi instrumentals so that felt good lol.

    It is what it is

happy life happy gf wifey now you know

What I mean by the feminist s*** is if she's getting uncomfortable with your music, don't be surprised down the road when she starts to psychoanalyze you and try to find things about you that she thinks is "toxic" or shows you have a "misogynistic" outlook. These feminist types don't believe in staying together, they just get bored of dudes quick and find excuses to make you the problem when they leave.

    Thoughts on Andrew Tate?

  • I see this as a pro. She can put you on to s*** you don't f*** with and vice versa.

Bruh you're a man. You gotta dedicate music that the lady likes when y'all spend time together. Sometimes you can listen to your music but you gotta make time for your music, her music, and yall music. That's one of those small things that some brothers win off of and some brothers lose off of

  • usually id say that s*** doesnt matter
but i had a long term relationship and one of the things that played a backdrop in the relationship was the type of music she was listening to.
Ill never date a girl that only listens to the Weeknd again

y'all don't need to be equal in everything
love is accepting your partner as it is, even though you don't understand some of their aspects

NGL I recently learned I can't be in a relationship that doesn't have the same realm of music taste as me. If I can't bring them to an artist i want to see and I know they aren[t going to like it then we both are going to have a bad time. Music is a big facet to my life so it really depends how much it means to you.

I think its fair grounds to break up tbh especially if music is very important to you and you need it to bond with somebody on a deep level. Also if she listens to hyper feminist music, she might be a radical feminist and that can always be super frustrating to deal with personality wise.

Breaking up with someone off music taste is ridiculous, especially when music taste is ever changing. I understand taste intertwines with personality but if the personality good ain’t no issue

If you truly got feelings for someone you find that sweet balance/compromise when doing s*** together like car rides or cooking etc

Also if you’re open minded with her music then shes more likely gonna be with yours

thats real but I showed my gf Predator the other day and she ended up liking it even though she was reluctant to watch and its one of my favorite movies ever
