is TM not just basically meditation without the trying to “focus” on anything except repeating your mantra though, without the trying to keep refocusing on the present moment, pro-mind wandering meditation kinda.

Meditation in essence is focus and concentration. tm meditation is just focusing on a mantra instead of breath. Loving kindness meditation is focusing on loved ones, yourself, the world at large. etc. etc.
If the app is free and if it helps then by all means use it.
But the TM we’re talkin bout is a commodity, a billion dollar industry, and they claim to have secret mantras when they are just made up words lol.
Its mostly shilled by people who want to make money off a practice that is perceived as a better or more efficient way of meditation, when its really just a different form of the same thing that you could do for free. So we gotta be wary of that itt.
it still works, cause they are still meditating, which is why david lynch loves it so much. Its a very valid practice. but never pay lol.

I'll try but I'm dealing with other health stuff too that makes it hard to do anything so nothing's ever consistent besides an intensifying of my symptoms
