My mom is a compulsive liar and over the last few months she’s been constantly asking me to send her money to pay for food and her bills, calling me and crying and telling me how terrible things are for her and how f***ed her relationship is with my sister.

She’s been almost nonexistent in my life for the past 13 years, and prior to that when I lived with her she’s routinely steal from me and pawn my s*** for money for who knows what.

I’m at my wits end and contemplating just blocking her at this point, she never changes no matter how much she claims this time she will. Nothing I tell her ever seems to reach her, and yet she’s my mom and I feel like a piece of s*** for even considering this.

Thing is, it’s never going to end. She’s not gonna get a job, she hasn’t held down a job since I was 8.

Also, she’s rooming with random ass people she’s met, whoever will let her stay, so it’s complicated.

She’s called me from over a dozen different numbers over the last few years, and no one else will talk to her because she’s burned bridges with everyone.

I’m the only one who’ll ever answer the phone and I’m getting tired of it, I have my own problems. She asked me for rent money and before I sent it I took a shower and she called me 5 times while I was in there.

It’s really getting to me.

Jheez that sounds really rough :/ tough position to be in, whatever decision you make you should draw a line next time you talk to her, be like if after this you ask for money i'm block your for a month etc. Only when you do it once she will stop, otherwise she'll keep trying every single time. Just by 2 cents

Yeah, I’m thinking about that, but again, I’m the only one who will answer the phone, so if I don’t send any money and something happens, I’m gonna feel guilty about it.

I just don't know how much is involved to get to that point as I've never really brought up much of my mental health issues with my primary (which atm I have a s***ty one I need to replace).
