moshI don't think Cera was miscast but if the movie was made today I don't think he would be chosen to play Scott.
Don't think the movie would work well if he was a chad either. I think for the average film goer who didn't read the comics, Cera's dweebiness makes sense in a movie about a character who's fighting Ramona's 7 evil exes and constantly comparing himself to them throughout.
He can't be a chad but he shouldn't be an ugly dweeb either. Just because he's saying he shouldn't be a dweeb doesn't mean he must necessarily be an uber-Chad either. That's a false choice. It's not one extreme or the other, there is a whole range in between.

Part of that is Michael being cast, another part is the lack of flashbacks like the comics. Honestly someone like Evan Peters should’ve played Scott but they wanted to bank on a trendy name
