It's gonna be a pain in the ass relearning Gunlance all over again but I'm ready.

Also, I still think it's extremely dumb MH doesn't support crossplay, especially since the game isn't exclusive anymore. Lemme play with my Switch homies.

It's easily the most fun weapon in the game imo, I legit can't play anything else. They just kinda had no clue what they were doing in base Rise to make the weapon actually strong.

Could be worse tho, could be a Lance main. Christ

All they gotta do is make charged shelling not worthless this time around and bring back our old stun values on shelling.

Long GL in Iceborne was f***ing incredibly comfy.

Been going crazy with Rise since i bought it and now that im +50 hours deep (im HR5, been playing solo exclusively and have completed literally every mission in the village and low rank hub, also the 4 star hub missions too) here are some of the things i like and dont like bout the game:

I love the maps, i think World maps are fantastic and very explorable but sometimes they get way too complex and annoying to traverse, specially Ancient Forest. But Rise maps with the Palamute and wirebug, is super fun to just go around and is not annoying when a monster goes to another zone that is way too far like the Raths in World.

Switch skills are the correct next step after the styles in Generations, instead of having 4 styles with their good and bad, i love that we have more say in then and can change specific moves, dont know how many they are but i hope there are enough.

The roster selection is fantastic tbh, i would love every monster to be in the game lol but i think what they choose and whats coming in Sunbreak is a great selection. Only thing i dont like is how there are so many early game trash like the 3 greats, Kula Yukulu and Arzuros but there are some classes like Piscine, Brutes and Neoptorons that are lacking. Like instead of Kula they could of added another early monster like Seltas that would of keep the roster more varied ( also we could of had Seltas Queen that way )

Feels like the game is way less grindy, like i remember having to do more than 20 Glavenous in XX for some of its weapons but i can make a whole armor with 3 or 4 hunts and have spare for some weapons. On god havent had to kill a monster 5 times straight to make something. I know luck is also involved in this, but one of the things i like more about MH is having to grind for equipment.

The game is easy af but after playing World that was also a piece of cake i wasnt expecting anything Lets see how G rank changes this. Monster do have a lot of HP tho

I tried it in World n s*** would be so hard for me the postioning n timing plus how u turtle everywhere

Only advanced weapon I got a great grasp on is Switch Axe which is a lot of fun since GenU.

Tried Insect Glaive but the bug mechanic n upgrading is annoying to me, n tried Charge Blade but that weapon has too much u have to keep track of lmao.

that's been my only "complaint" with rise. regardless, even if the endgame isn't amazing, i have more than enough fun just playing through the game

got 70+ hours on this on the switch. looks like ima put 70+ more in with this expansion. cant wait. pretty much going in blind. probably gonna run some hunts today to get accustomed to it again

The wep actually gets a lot easier once you realize how mobile the GL is with backhop. It just needs practice because it totally rewires how you think about the game. You're basically moving forward by going backwards. Blast Dash only made it crazier.

Only other wep I wanted to try was Charge Blade but I saw that phial management s*** u had to do and noped out.

Charged Blade ks so fire once its going but then its a wet noidle once its out n theres so much to it, i would bully Jyrudatos in World with it a few times tho 💀

Switch Axe is the perfect middle ground of complex with options/combos but also simple enough to go caveman brain n bonk niggas once you get used to mode switching & the inputs, I was Long Sword main Hammer secondary for 2nd n 3rd gen before SA in GU n World

Yeah, plus in Rise for CB apparently it's in a pretty bad spot. Unless they changed it a s***ton in Sunbreak, it's not worth the headache and consistency needed to do like half the damage of LS
