As a huge fan of Left 4 Dead, Back 4 Blood was total trash, never even copped after the beta was so bad. Dying Light 2 was also some mediocre garbage, I beat it but have never gone back to it unlike the first one.
On the other hand the World War Z game was a fantastic game very similar to L4D that I still go back to when I wanna kill 1000’s of zombies in a single mission.
Chivalry 2 has also surprisingly been one of my favorite games of the past few years, almost never gets old and you can take it as serious or unserious as you want, reminds me of the golden age of COD in that sense.
Great game, good story, good cast, my goty from 2019.
Another game that I had as my personal GOTY. There's very few games I've played in the last decade that were jampacked with as much solid side content, a good story, and great combat as this one. RGG went all out with this one, it really felt like they perfected their craft here, and hopefully we get more judgement in the future.
I know this as a series has been around, but this latest version came out in 2020 I guess. I just started playing it in the last month, but it's kinda addicting. It's just quick and simple, it's fun, it's a nice game you can just hop and play when you're bored and wanna burn 30 minutes. Has a lot of potential, from a few videos I've watched has a very steep learning curve to ever be top tier, but it fun enough just learning and improving at your own pace.

What about your disappointments tho
I talked about it before, but Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy was incredible despite its terrible advertising and marketing. The public reception of Marvel x Square Enix was extremely sour around that time because of Avengers, so many people skipped it/didn’t care to try it.
I expected a whatever kind of experience, but It surprised the f*** outta me being much more than that. It felt on par and in many ways, better than Insomniac’s Spider-Man. Highly recommend it to everyone, even if you don’t care for Superheroes, this game has tons of fun for everyone
Not to me but Cyberpunk at launch has to be the most disappointing. Shambles across gaming forums were crazy back then.
Nier Automata and BioShock Infinite two of the biggest flops I've ever played
Most surprising would be either Dishonored or Deus Ex Mankind Divided for similar reasons. I love it when games give you multiple ways to approach situations and when open worlds are densely packed.
Biggest disappointment is No Man's Sky. The game just falls of as soon as you fix your ship and take off.
Nier Automata and BioShock Infinite two of the biggest flops I've ever played
Nier automata was a surprise for me. Absolutely blown away by the story, characters, world building. A game that really made you think, loved all the references to philosophy and overall just the cerebral narrative was really engrossing.
Disappointment for me was no man’s sky, just felt like an empty shell of a game filled with little pieces of gameplay ideas but all of them shallow. I think it would’ve been more interesting if it was just 100 star systems like starfield and not trillions and trillions of randomized star systems.
disappointing: starfield
you haven’t played it
so close to blocking this mf
Nier Automata and BioShock Infinite two of the biggest flops I've ever played
Bioshock Infinite on 99 mode first time hit but definitely some filler and "never need to play again moments" I enjoyed it
most surprising: Hades
got lowkey addicted to this one, so much fun. I hadn't played a game like it
most disappointing: MWII
absolute dog s*** that I got hyped up for because of my 2009 nostalgia
Most Disappointing
the avengers game
most surprising
satisfactory
super fun and addicting fun with a friend too

great picks. Loved hades on the switch and the MW2 beta showed me enough to know I was never gonna cop smh

Playing 13 Sentinels rn, s*** is heat
Most disappointing: silksong cause it still aint out
Most suprising: Baldurs Gate 3 game of the life coming 4 weeks earlier
Recent games I've played
Most disappointing: GTA Trilogy, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Kingdom Hearts 3
Most surprising: 428: Shibuya Scramble, LA Noire, AC Brotherhood Remaster
Surprise : Battlebit, Cyberpunk( I waited til recently to buy it but think if I sprinkle enough mods on it post 2.0 update that I will be very far from the hate )
Disappointment: Back 4 Blood, GTA trilogy

Why AC Brotherhood? Did they change anything or is it just a graphics update?
