And easily identifiable, so if you dont like them, just steer clear and play the s*** you like. It's not like they're tricking you into thinking you're buying vanquish and it's really tlou2. Theres plenty of games being made with heavy gameplay focus, the entire industry hasn't turned into naughty dog clones

EpisodeI feel like this is semi bait, but anyways.
This is truly case to case. Because something like TLOU 1 & 2 are still very fun to play to me, especially wit how flawless they are on a mechanical level.
Now something like Super Mario Odyssey (One of my top 5 of all time.) is infinitely more fun in the sense that that’s it’s only purpose, and so games like that, Pokemon, etc. are a lot easier for me to binge and fly thru because 6 hours will fly by like one and they’re less of a grind.
But I also have a massive appreciation and respect for games like TLOU, RDR, etc., and all the work that went into them.
I enjoy both for different reasons. They’re both different experiences and serve different purposes and there’s room for both.

WarriorJust because you play games just to relax doesn't mean everyone else does. Some people play games to get immersed in an impactful story, engage in stressful but rewarding gameplay, etc.
Also what you're talking about for repetitive gameplay makes no sense. Every game has a gameplay loop. Whether it's good or you enjoy it is something else. DOOM has the most repetitive gameplay loop I've seen in a modern game but that s*** is fun asf and that's all that matters.
