Which version are you reading? I got an older 2009 version gifted to me but idk that info would also be relevant in 2021 lol
the most recent one,
10th edition. i would get it from libgen if i was you because it’s updated to reflect how streaming has affected the industry and how to market yourself on the age of social media and streaming

Definitely need that! Good looks ima check it
Idk any marketing but I’m banking off people sharing my music that I’ve met online like ktt and discord communities
Bro this how I’m banking on ticket sales for like 60-70% 😂
I would also recommend Brandman Network channel, they got some gems with their videos and content they share.
!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ou5tQF9DQLwayyeee he know bout us
really good video, thanks for sharing. def agree w/ him about comment spamming it is the absolute worst
def agree w/ the top 4 as well. w/ paid advertising i was able to get 1,000 streams in 3 weeks for my latest single, compared to the last one which took me 3 months. i def knew a lot less than i do now about the game and was mainly relying on spotify playlisting and pushing visuals.
no. 1 goes without saying. consistent content is king!
wanna try out influencer/reposting marketing more for this next track along w/ the other top 2 as the main focus.

For sure! Paid advertising has been the most challenging for me so far but no.1 is also really overlooked. Makes a lot of sense
Also this mans be dropping keys! He's provides some good thorough information with his strategies
what do y'all think
about marketing
yourself on here
like outside of creative sxn
noticing anything based on
where you post or who you interact with?

i tend not to worry bout it too much in the other sxns. i would say try to keep adding value thru conversation and contribute to the community in meaningful ways, whether thats on a individual level w/ somebody or thru sharing knowledge, experiences, etc in a post or thread.
Burstimo is great. Learned a lot from them.
My first artist ever already has 2 songs each over 200k views
you a manager/a&r?

You make music?? Link some
Yo we might need a TikTok thread or somethin
Maybe someone can drop some knowledge about it ITT
Just started one I'm still figuring this s*** out
ive got the music but i dont wanna drop it cuz nobody listens
Keep dropping & experimenting! In my experience the people around you will lyk when they fall in love with what you're doing, but you have to give them a chance to decide
Been a little absent as of late but I've really been working on applying the knowledge posted in here.
Copped the book from Donald S Passman just started getting into it
The first person he mentioned that you should have on your team is a music lawyer that's something I wanna make happen this year.
Apparently it's the lawyers that have some of the best connections in the industry. It makes sense though, anyone doing serious business definitely will need a lawyer at some point. As I keep reading I'll post the most relevant info I find
