damn people are able to upload their music on library streaming services?
Yeah it's the same as like Spotify
Young listeners have already been conditioned to not value music and you wanna make it worse lmao.
No
Musicians should be fairly compensated for their work by their audience
i agree.
they also should put their music on a free public streaming service as a way of archiving their art.
authors put their books in libraries and still get paid

they get one time royalties for purchase
Which isn’t fair compensation imo

are books worse cause they're in libraries?
You'd have a "library card" that allows you to own the music for a certain time.
People would just leak it online.

now how artists should be compensated is a different conversation. they should get compensated better such that putting their art on a public streaming service doesn't destroy them
All music deserves to be on a free public streaming service that would form as a library of archiving human art. Artists should be incentivised to put their music on there.
Of course you would still have other platforms to pay artists/own the music for life (itunes/bandcamp/spotify/apple music).
It would be governmentally regulated/moderated by people that care. You'd have a "library card" that allows you to own the music for a certain time.
The archival of art is extremely important to me but thats a topic for another day.
socialism achieved this
You should work for free, while also spending your own money to create a free product.
are books worse cause they're in libraries?
books are worse because authors now cannot make money without dumbing down their content for younger readers because of things like streaming, social media, and shortened attention span brought on by binge culture and having access to so much at once.
libraries do not change the fact that you are holding a book and reading it for weeks at a time. streaming is not like that you understand.
a library that let you check out 1000000 books at once would make books worse because barely anybody would sit with and read an entire book.
are movies worse because streaming took over? yes
is television worse because streaming took over? yes
is music worse because streaming took over? yes
music and other art. shouldnt be accessible to so easily. it should require some sacrafice.
i paid to go to the Sistine chapel a week ago because it is pure f***ing art and i treasured that moment after sacrificing the time and money
Just bring mixtapes back indeed of this library idea thing
beyonce should have an outlet to put out a mixtape with no bs

younger listeners would have no idea how to access them or how to listen to them

maybe they should sacrifice some time and figure it out

AYYYYYYY youre catching on

im not saying my service should be the only one around. you can check this thread to see how we get into the nitty gritty.
id love if artists were able to work on how exactly how the public streaming service would look like. this is how the government should work
i don't see how a public digital music library would be any different from a library with books.
the service is more so for the archival of art rather than consumption
