I use Reddit a lot but strictly for information for my interests as far as the interaction goes it’s bottom barrel ngl. Got in an argument with dude one time and he tried to pull my profile s*** and roasted me for being subscribed to Fortnite sub so when I looked through his he was commenting on some sub of niggas beating their d*** to pics on their phone. I literally was in awe this dude tried to call ME weird
engaging in flame wars while h**** on main is crazy
Nothing wrong with mentioning you’re a black couple.
It’s not even an unimportant detail seeing as europe is still racist lowkey and highkey in some places
Imo Italy is one of the more openly racist countries in Europe
Didn't necessarily need to mention it, but neither did they. Lot of europeans especially on the internet seem to think racism doesn't exist in their country or something and get auto defensive about anything to do with race relations
Tbh the biggest reason I’ve been hesitant to travel to other countries is because I’m not sure how they treat black people
I’m not trying to go somewhere where the locals are staring and taking pictures of me like I’m a zoo animal
People outside of America pride themselves in being colorblind
Reddit also has a large population of neurodivergent people who have trouble understanding experiences other than their own
It's fine, been to Rome a few times, lovely city.
Plenty of tourists visit from all different backgrounds.
Enjoy yourselves.
Now to me that's jus common sense and is just a matter of always having your passport on hand.
My concern right now is pickpockets and scammers, but outside of that, I hoping to be made aware of things I wouldn't think to consider.
You know what I mean?
that stuff is pretty easy to avoid. if you have jewelry always be aware of it. a street rat in Paris ripped my chain off my neck as the metro doors were closing. and if someone tries to hand you something just do not take it, do not let them put the thing in ur hands, keep walking. similarly if a baddie is tryna take you to hang out at a second location, do not go.
Yeah there's this weird crowd of white people that want everyone to forcefully act like racism isn't a thing so they hate anytime race is even pointed out. Reddit is full of those kinds
this, big time.
It's always funny to me how the most racist people are always trying to deny the existence of racism itself
It’s funny cus it’s more likely that you will face more problems being black in Rome than the strikes itself
they get uncomfortable if u mention race at all in general
Is being Black unimportant or something, some y’all got me perplexed. That’s the first s*** that people be noticing plus it’s an important aspect of my experience tf.
In my experience, Europeans can be cool but often clueless about micro aggressive behaviors culturally. Cops are cops everywhere and they be on some bs to darker skin folk.
they don't know how the real world works
I think it’s weird white people think they can speak on AND dismiss a black persons concern about traveling in the context of how racist a country is.
white people act like the only way life can be experienced is through their terms , like 6 billion other people of different shades of color and languages don’t exist and have vastly different life experiences than them.
it just makes y’all come across narrow minded, dismissive and big boot licker vibes in general.
ngl a few of my non-white friends that went to rome said they experienced discrimination there
like held up by authorities type s***
Yea Italians are openly racist against immigrants
It's fine, been to Rome a few times, lovely city.
Plenty of tourists visit from all different backgrounds.
Enjoy yourselves.
hilarious questions to ask considering literally every black person I know who's been to Italy experienced racism there (bar one who is 75% korkasian)
Yeah there's this weird crowd of white people that want everyone to forcefully act like racism isn't a thing so they hate anytime race is even pointed out. Reddit is full of those kinds
HUGE FAXX
You KNOW the fool that said
"I don't understand the specification of your phenotype..."
Is def one of them and think theyre so smart for it
