    dat guy

Saying slavery is a choice and simultaneously riding for the religion the slave masters banged into your head kinda cringeworthy ngl

in fact....nigga we werent even allowed to read or write back then

any slave that was found who could read or write was killed. we were literally stripped of all hope..... so how could religion be "banged" into their heads"??

last i checked religion was used to justify slavery to dumb whites

On the flip side. I used to be a very devout Christian and I wonder if having no form of spirituality is hurting my mental health.

    Just believe in yourself

Yeah I would never deny that religion has been used to justify horrible things but the teachings are great stuff (I’m a Muslim btw)

Religion in a vacuum is not a bad thing, like you said there are great teachings in there. Its when people use religion to start "othering" each other that makes me go

You use semiconductor electronics in your everyday life (e.g. smartphones, and basically everything with a microchip in it) which are all fundamentally based on quantum mechanics. So you have first-hand proof of it being correct.

Yeah I agree Muslims are supposed to respect and love all people but a lot of people will go on and on about how others are evil

Honestly the only reason I believe in quantum physics is genuinely tied to my belief in God mixed with some revelations I had during a few of my LSD trips. But it's wayyy too hard to explain.

But I don't believe God in the traditional sense i.e a gold Man in a chair sitting on clouds

I'm agnostic, but I have respect for religion and spiritual practices. I don't really care what people believe or what they do as long as they dont use religion to justify s***ty opinions. Other than that, do what makes you happy and brings you peace.

Even if it were true, couldn’t it be that it’s all wrong? For example the bible has been pieced together well after the death of jesus, and has been proven to have been altered for political reasons over the years. So how do you know what even is true if it was true?

Secondly, most religions are ethically wrong, for example when you look at the bible, just look at the story of Jericho, or the story of Job. God seems to be an evil demon neglecting his « children » and causing war and misery. Why would one want to follow him? Out of pure fear?

Thirdly the stories are ridiculous, for example jonah surviving in the whales belly (which is scientifically impossible, not to mention horrible) the age of the earth being completely incorrect and clearly based upon what was known at the time etc. Theres just so much wrong with it. And I know islam has some ridiculous stories as well, like muhammed riding a goat to the moon and having a 12 year old wife (+harem) etc

Now I wouldn’t say that believing in religion is stupid per se since it gives some people meaning and hope. But these were stories written by people thousands of years ago. What did they have that we didn’t? They didn’t have cameras for example. Nothing ever could be documented in an undeniable fashion. Stories always got made after the fact and got blown up, hence why europe is littered with « relics » and ridiculous claims, cause people could get away with it back in the day. And use it for political or monetary goals.

Personally Im am agnostic, because like you say, you can never know everything for sure. But what we do have is concrete proof of mistakes and alterations made in these centuries old works that give away that they are manmade

Maybe there is some guy in the sky, but personally I think the human mind simply can’t grasp what happens after death. We’re all energy, all part of this universe, so in a sense everyone is the universe, we are one thing
