it’s kinda funny that this is happening around the same time a decade ago that the video stores went out of business
i can’t lie i miss the video store
Friday night going and getting a pizza and a movie and chilling with the fam
Apple is getting Sunday Ticket
I can definitely see it,their gonna force people to buy Apple TV boxes in order to get the package but broadcast quality is most likely gonna go way up.(4K/60/120fps broadcast)
Lost In Space reboot?
I actually enjoyed that show
I meant the space show with Steve carell

Kinda sad how there’s absolutely no way that Blockbuster experience of renting movies/video games can ever comeback because of technology

Eh Red Box can give you that…. It’s not the same but close

Ah yeah Space Force. I watched like one episode…. It wasn’t awful but not good enough to continue watching

Likewise, I didn’t make it to ep 2
Layoffs are happening, apparently they got rid of all their editorial team
Must've got rid of their PR as well
$10 for 480p dawg that’s literally piss quality today id rather just listen to the movie than watch
Only reason I have Netflix is because I don't gotta pay. These guys are reckless thinking they could just sneak up prices over and over. I hope they tank

Walking around looking at covers and reading the synopsis and having no clue if anything was good

It’s kinda something that’s been overlooked but when you think about it and think about Netflix’s online DVD rental past, you have to wonder why Netflix never invested into a digital rental service similar to VUDU. Imagine being able to rent whatever you liked integrated into Netflix’s interface.
There’s so many possibilities with something like that but I think it’s too late now. Their brand was always “cheap cable alternative” and now they want to be a premium service and it’s backfiring.

Their DVD rental service still has a gigantic library to this day. Way more expansive than any streamer. Amazon and iTunes already had that space as retailers I think

I remember when people use to act like Netflix was a one stop shop for everything and when they were the only real game in town,it kinda felt like it. Now actual movie studios are getting into the mix and people are seeing longtime favorites on these services and not Netflix. Disney+ and HBO Max are doing irreversible damage to Netflix right now.
The idea should’ve always been “have every movie possible in one digital service whether it’s included with your sub or you can rent it” with premium programming second, they never needed that many shows, their trying to fill too many niches. No one wanted Netflix to become their own Network/Studio,people just wanted a one stop shop service.
They bout to have no price subscriptions
Proceed

I feel like movies aren't even as popular as like live streaming and YouTube/Tik Tok now. TV is still popular but the networks who make TV- have networks to distribute them. Movies were always a secondhand market with rentals and they just made that digital which everyone in turn can copy and attach to their original programming. Netflix was first but it didn't really have an patentable quality or producer edge or even a tech base. Apple and Amazon sell tech with their services loaded on it already. S*** seems inevitable. Now they're just catching up to Hulu

Their downfall really was inevitable. They were always a hack for cheaper TV/no monthly cable bills. I do believe it’s possible for them to have a resurrection with live sports tho,I think that’s where they should be headed. Their TV business is a definite sinking ship.

I don't think they're ever going to outbid the major networks for that stuff. Not enough to make a difference.

Yea,they’ve never had to spend the type of money it would take to acquire UFC rights or NFL rights. UFC PPVs alone is looking to be worth a couple billion next time they sign a network deal. Netflix is just in dire need of something exclusive that isn’t produced within their brand. The name of the game right now is “big brand exclusivity”.
