Doubt they’re making that much money off the Wii anymore, the Switch is a different situation

I mean they killed off Citra as well, which is 3DS

Why not just BUY the game?

It’s not like it’s an old game that’s inconvenient to play now like a N64/Gamecube/Ps1/ etc

    Lol like Mario all stars?

The issue is how Nintendo is marketing now, and a large part of it is very anti-consumer, emulation it seems they just want it all to be fully illegal.

I can easily see Nintendo fighting to make buying/selling used games illegal in the future, and I can also see the switch 2 having no options for physical games, since they've been vocal about disliking the used games market as a whole

Nintendo must’ve had a crazy case on them if they folded this quick, didn’t even try to fight it in court. Probably for the best though, they would’ve lost a lot more than 2mil if they tried to fight it.

All stars was released on switch, which is the current system, and is heavily emulated. This is to take down emulation in full, not just for the people emulating totk

    Preservation

With this case in particular there was no preservation to be had lol.
But i hope this doesnt have repercussions on actual preservation with other emulators

    Preservation

Never understood this argument. Preserve games that are 10 year old or some lmao. Preserving the new zelda game ain't an excuse. Regardless Nintendo killing Yuzu this far deep into the switch life gotta be a way to keep their next console safe from this. I guess.

Yuzu deserved to die for its absolute meme run with their paywalled online service lmao

That is not true and I was a yuzu user around that time

No source twitter post you’re falling for

When TOTK came out s*** was NOT PLAYABLE on yuzu at all prior to release. Patreon version or not. Only way to play it via yuzu was downloading forks of the code made by users, not the yuzu team, which hacked it to make TOTK work. For free no paywall, and not in any way advertised by yuzu. They refuses to release a single patch that would address totk performance until a week after it came out

    Yup

Nintendo is tryna make sure the most popular emulated is shut down before launching the new system to make sure the new s*** isn’t pirated

Why do it this late if that isn’t the case?
