Games don’t have to be a decade old to be preserved, doesn’t matter if it happens now or later it’ll still be used for piracy. But that’s not the main reason these emulators exist.
bruh the new zelda game got "preserved" before release date lmao
This was unexpected to me overall, but its also unexpected It wasnt a bigger case, they really had a problem with yuzu only, probably because they were the only ones to f*** up compared to the others. I dont know why tho
nintendo historically does this but theres no rhyme or reason to who they go after, which leads to everyone not knowing why they target some entities but not others
this is especially seen in the rom hack scene, with them going after big names like glazed but then going after tiny lesser ones for seemingly no reason

Piracy is always going to happen
But that’s not a good reason to shut down these emulators, there are still users out there who use it completely legally
Is Citra closing too?
It did close today, but latest source code was uploaded to git by someone and I would imagine the same thing was done for the latest build
I can understand using emulators to play old games because the old games are harder to get a hold of today, but emulating current gen games a sin
a fork has already gotten traction
i’d recommend waiting until there is a fork which gets regular updates because there’s plenty of these projects right now that will just wither away and die
All I wanna know is can I get unicorn overlord day 1 cracked? I'mma buy it eventually but I need more demo time

Nintendo can’t stop people going online and just uploading their xci files so you’ll be good
I think it's crazy some people see this as an end of emulation thing.
Yuzu were just shady as f***, and got caught.
