that's not true imo
if anything people tell kanye for example he doesn't need to rap (especially not write his raps) cuz he is a great producer and can sing some notes
Specifically Kanye has spoken about this exact topic before.
He thinks belling called a rapper is the new N word because he sees himself as something a lot more.
12 pages and counting
nah it started as bait but this turned into legit discussion for like the past 10 pages lol

and he's wrong and highly insecure about everything
second post like this on this page, this is a new one
I think Uzi would say he could rap his ass off and someone just told me he disrespects the culture and doesn't call himself a rapper tho
Uzi thinks his whinnin and singin sound better but a singer sounds funny so he calls himself an artist. He is technically a singing artist
https://djbooth.net/features/2018-10-29-juice-wrld-more-than-a-rapper
I think Juice himself would have agreed with me.
Most of his music isn't even rap so it's different.
aint nobody mad its just funny first of all u got drake and ye in your avy they would s*** on u for saying that, first of all
second of all u think u onto something calling bey music trash its def not trash solange better
may not be the best in the genre but i hope u got ur dopamine hit off calling her music trash
Nigga is a Drake stan talking trash. Beyonce arguably has more classics than he does
Don't it just mean they want/can include more genres into their music?
Yep, they conquered rap and are ready to make real music to be taken seriously. And be a fashion designer too
and he's wrong and highly insecure about everything
It's a form of control to keep you in your box
and he's wrong and highly insecure about everything
Second thread I’ve seen you slandering ye lmaoo
If you are a bassist and you call yourself an artist you gonna sound like a douche. Same thing really.

not a rapper ≠ i am a rapper and a singer or whatever else
Yep, they conquered rap and are ready to make real music to be taken seriously. And be a fashion designer too
You gotta be 30+ cause you trying so hard to see the negative in everything
i mean in reality a lot of these guys just get labeled rapper because they are black and do not really be making rap music
Uzi thinks his whinnin and singin sound better but a singer sounds funny so he calls himself an artist. He is technically a singing artist
I think this is my point throughout this whole thread. All of these people mentioned are recording ARTISTS. their style of music can be rap or whatever else, but at the end of the day they're artists.
You can't lie though, people put you in a box once you're labelled as a "rapper". Like if you want to venture into other genres and s***, people aren't going to be as receptive to it because they already see you as a rapper. Tyler said on the Cherry Bomb documentary, he wants to make Stevie Wonder type music because he feels it's more timeless. He makes IGOR years later and he gets the Best Rap Album Grammy
I think it's to avoid how the world sees them rather than any shade or disrespect towards rap as a genre. Kanye said the same thing, people use it as a label to disrespect him
That's literally all this is. It's not because the rappers themselves don't see rap as an art form. It's to avoid being boxed and labelled by other people.
If you are a bassist and you call yourself an artist you gonna sound like a douche. Same thing really.
thundercat and paul mccartney say hello
and he's wrong and highly insecure about everything
He phrased it Ye way but he's not entirely wrong. Theres an implicit "just a" before rapper
You gotta be 30+ cause you trying so hard to see the negative in everything
If I'm 30+ and still posting on here, feel free to euthanize me
At the end of the day it all comes down to niggas not wanting to be put in a box. A lot of yall would do the exact same thing.
Why the flying f*** would Rick Ross call himself an artist
although if he wanted he could
