I always think ain’t no way mf’s in this country of America really eating s*** like this and Baconator’s but some folks actually do on a regular basis WILD
It's really one of the saddest truths about living in the US. It's now a rare thing to be skinny in public in some states.
Can’t say the same about alcohol lol. I don’t get your point at all
so your okay with half the country being obese?
or even 60 or 70%?
It’s only stigmatizing cause ppl like you lmao. You’re acting like it’s something that is human nature to discriminate against
Yeah the unhealthiest of the bunch are stigmatized
so your okay with half the country being obese?
or even 60 or 70%?
It’s a health issue we should talk about but I don’t support discriminating against that
It's culturally dependent, so the last thing it can be is objective
If it's not objectively stigmatized in America this thread wouldn't exist
@plants been shaming the ag industry for years now too!
S*** goes nowhere when the government protects those industries
fr ppl who think shame is the way forward are the ones who fly off the handle when i shame them for gleefully supporting animal cruelty
I don't really get the point of that tbh
Im well aware of the halo effect etc, doesnt mean that it shouldnt be discouraged lol
Are you saying it's hypocritical to enact this law because nobody is talking about discrimination based on height or facial asymmetry?
Nah I'm saying that it's weird that the focus falls specifically on such a minor issue when in reality its derivative of a much bigger problem which requires attention given the unfairness of the american economy.
Like I don't doubt there's discrimination here, but i highly doubt that this is comparable to discrimination in cases of Race/Gender/Sexuality, which was the purpose of the law this isbeing appended to. What is comparable more than likely though is the issue that this is derivative of, but people don't want to address since it would require self-reflective tabboos. However, imo, because of that the mismatched focus makes it less likely the core of the issue will be addressed, especially since this itself seems likemore of a joke to most people - it's kind of tainted the pool of what should be a more valid inquiry
How exactly do they want to implement this. It isn’t like recruiters are currently saying, you’re not getting the job cus you look like a lazy whale
The whole “body acceptance” thing our current society has is disgusting. It’s a cover for people to be unhealthy.
No one should be proud of being unhealthy. It’s something everyone should strive to improve. I get that it’s tougher for some people because of genetics, but that doesn’t mean you should just accept it. Obviously making fun of people for their weight is not cool, but the whole mindset that people should just appreciate fat people for what they are and let them live their lives is just weird and detrimental.
Edit: this post is obviously not directly related to the article in OP, just a general observation about society.
What the f*** kind of post is this? Man niggas really be wilding when it comes to certain topics in L&A
It’s a health issue we should talk about but I don’t support discriminating against that
I was just arguing that it does have an aggregate effect on society if a lot of people are obese
that's fair but 40% of adults being obese is a wild stat
yea but shaming or discrimination isnt not a solution

All it means is that if they do say that or otherwise can be proven to have discriminated they can face legal action. In at will employment states you gotta be a true dumbass company to let yourself be in that position tho
yea but shaming or discrimination isnt not a solution
ya but a lot of people act like it isn't a issue or its inappropriate to even mention it

most discrimination laws exist more as safeguards than direct practice unfortunately. like it'd still be legal under this law to say "we aren't hiring you because you look lazy/underqualified" and as long as there's no proof of that correlation to "fat" the employer would be fine. there's no law requiring rejection notices though, so like, this doesn't solve anything anyway even if it had a valid point in a vacuum. hiring is still considered subjective so telling someone they "don't fit into company culture" is a valid excuse which can be used to override even most civil rights act hiring discrimination cases
It depends on the individual, severity, length, consistency, diagnosis etc.
I know for a fact that there are some people out here that have an anxiety attack once 2 months, who potentially with no symptoms of anxiety throughout their days until months leading up to that panic attack who might say they have panic disorder.
Then there are people that constantly in a panicked state every single moment for every single day for years on end, and solipsistically are trapped in a web of their own self-reflection while having no other inputs, and that person would also receive a panic disorder diagnosis.
It just depends, I don't like the whole acceptance of mental health s*** at some level because EVERYONE goes through s*** and has to learn to self-regulate and deal with their own emotions. It's whether or not what you've got is so crippling that you have no other option.
Like I don't get mad at a homeless person with schizophrenia the same way I get mad at some cute tiktok girl that got broken up with once goes through a "bipolar episode" then basically goes on a romp then says "I don't know what come over me".
It's different for everyone
Can agree with this. Within the realms of 'mental health acceptance' that biggest gripe personally is this obsession with these labels. Not sure if you're around the same age as me, but growing up being bound by a 'label' was seen as the worst thing ever. Boxing people in, was considered a messed up thing, and 'just being yourself' as an identity was 'in'. However in recent years socially it's become more and more acceptable to apply all these labels and groupings, just simply nonsense. No human is the same. Seriously, and it kills an actual identity.
This is what some people eat, let this sink in.
Minus the sauce at the bottom, I’d eat that

It's all salt, you'd need to work-out for a good three hours after consooming it.

Ok???
I got a legit question. Is eating a thick ass T-Bone steak cooked medium rare healthy or unhealthy? Cause I just did that and I wanna know…
I feel for bigger people, I eat like s*** most of my life and I'm still barely 150
