No more being a nigga
Who pulls the most triggers
Who d*** bigger
Newports in the winter
Seeing my breath on the porch steps
Plenty secrets been kept
Plenty folks lost their head
Aint protect their neck
No more regrets
Pour spliffs to make time stretch
Cause thats all you get
Woods always be dropping the most heavy hitting verses.
"First time I saw them put a trap in the car, eyes wide
Felt like the internet, snipers in the minaret
Little tiny spoon for the mignonette"
woods can go OFF when he wants to
No more being a nigga
Who pulls the most triggers
Who d*** bigger
Newports in the winter
Seeing my breath on the porch steps
Plenty secrets been kept

Always felt like his first four projects were FLAWLESS.
Castro Mugabe ain't no private property
The late Walter Rodney
Detonators wasn't firing properly
Sky opened like Lockerbie
Always felt like his first four projects were FLAWLESS.
Interesting take. Im more inclined towards the latter 4, Today I Wrote Nothing onwards myself. Not to be critical of those first four projects. I still find myself listening to them a lot. But I think he's just gotten better and better as a writer and pushing the envelope on what hiphop can sound like and how to toy with song structures.
Anybody understand the theme of Rome? Love the concept of that album
More a prophecy at this point. The craziness we living through. Rome's burning before our eyes.
i started reading blood meridian wtf is this book hard to understand, the entence are o dene and cryptic
Creepy cracker stalking unarmed neighbours
"Where's your paper?"
Slave code still in affect
Make no mistake, hate run so deep, conscious mind can't trace it
Dangerous, anxious, anger in the nation, same s***
Blame, what you think I'm going insane b****?
My language ain't enough, it's getting harder to relate us
Engulf them in the flame, I'm just conveying my rage
Been the truth for young gods, earning their first earth scars, we learn hard

Its a very very tough read. Cormac McCarthy is a brilliant writer and the majority of his works will feel dense and cryptic in ways. As an entry point I would recommend No Country For Old Men and The Road before taking on Blood Meridian.

its that its not that it is dense or cryptic, its like it is dense and cryptic and difficult while using so many obscure words that i have to keep a dictionary nearby.
anyway you seem to be well read, what would you recommend for me in similar vein of billy, elucid and earl?
I mean i like challenging art and love thinking about these things but cormac seems like i need atleast some literary knowledge to atleast understand his brilliance

She ain't raised no fool
I rode through Idaho like duel
This game they don't explain the rules
Packed house, pew to vestibule
Blue vegetables
Earthy, vegetal notes barely legible
But no less true
Like we won't always be cool
This America, somebody gots to lose
