do chest flys on the floor or use the machine
do yall workout with trainers? this dude got in my ear the other day over bad technique--of which im perfectly aware--and clearly wanted me to hire him. I had a bad experience with a trainer some years back and that whole personal trainer thing is by far the most discouraging aspect of working out in my opinion
how do you go about spotting if you dont know/talk to anybody at the gym? how do you improve technique in that situation (YouTube doesn't really help me)?

Depends what lift it is tbh. It it’s a lift where you can seriously hurt your lower back or suffer another serious injury I would consider hiring someone to teach you the proper form. After that go on your own. Tbh session to session with a PT is something I could never do.

tbh a lot of people say you dont need nutritionists or trainers in order to achieve your physical goals. While that is completely true, if you dont have time to do your own research, hiring them both is a good way to maximally optimize the process of getting in shape (if they're good obviously), cause then, you dont really have to worry about achieving good technique on your own, which is a process that can take years, cause a trainer will be there to help you how to lift, and you dont have to worry about learning how to diet, cause a nutricionist will give you a meal plan.
if you need someone to spot for you, just ask someone whos resting during sets or is finished with a exercise and say "hey man, im gonna do a big lift, do you mind spotting for me?" usually people are super cool with that
back day was brutal today
does anyone else get like ''sick'' you can say if they do heavy workouts through out the week like feeling like they have a COLD or something or is that just me lol i think i am pushing myself to much

I’ve never worked out with a trainer but I’ve been taught how to lift in the gym from football and powerlifting. I don’t really think trainers would be that helpful unless you’re like trying to compete and trying to squeeze every advantage out you can, or you just have zero experience.
I typically know or can feel my limits so I don’t feel like I need a spotter. Now with that said if you bench in a power rack you can use the crash bars, which is usually what I do

I can touch my chest with my arch but if I fail I can flatten my back and the crash bars will get it. Also I’ve definitely rolled a barbell across my body before, bit of a rite of passage tbh. But really just asking anyone at the gym is fine if it’s going to be a tough set, I’ve asked randoms before and people are happy to help.
Taking videos of yourself doing the lifts can help you realize what you need to work on form wise. Go lighter if you need to to correct form

lol why brain damage
my breathing during exercises is really bad, so my guess is that i wasnt pumping enough oxygen to the brain during a heavy squat and it caused me to have brain fog
what u fellas think of pea protein
iirc brown rice protein is a more complete non animal vegan source
like its crazy to me that in december 2022 i couldn’t do bicep curls with 7lb dumbbells for 10 reps and now 30 lbs 15 reps is ny baseline. obviously that’s nothing compared to most gym guys, but crazy to me. not even looking to get big but yeah…
ive been lifting for like 10 years and was a division 1 athlete and i think i barbell curl 30 pounds you’re fine just work towards your goals and don’t hurt yourself
